ok i might change that

You shouldn't change a story just because one person doesn't like it.

Well yeah, but the whole point of feeback is to get peoples opinions on the game. In the end, if you really want to keep it exactly the way it is, do so.

And you don't have to change the story at all, you can just modify how its presented a bit. You can have the evil being sealed away, but if so, don't tell the player right at the begining of the game that the evil is sealed. Like I said earlier, its not good if the player knows a big event that happens later in the game. So, I suggest not telling the player or hero about the evil being sealed away until you actually get to that point in the game, or a point in the game where it really matters.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

i thought of this idea for the intro:
The planet is dying and decaying because the 12 (s.s) are not able to look after the planet, and the hero will hear a (possibly voice [i know very cliche, any other ideas please]) from the 13th s.s telling him why the planet is dying, and that the 12 elder gods souls have gone corrupt and that he and a few others are the only ones (with the evil spawn[he refers to it as gifted powers]) that will be able to destroy them.

how what do you think?, should i change it?, is it to cliche?, or is it a bad idea and i should try something else? answers on a postcard please......just kidding just reply

:( yeah it's pretty cliche,

It could work out, but theres a good chance an intro like that could ruin the game. You want to tie the intro in with the end of the game, but you don't want to give information like that out. Just hinting at it, and letting the player guess would be a better idea. Throughout the beggining of the plot, slowly expand on why the hero is the only one who can stop this, and develope into that plot, but don't just give all that away right in the begining. You want to keep the player guessing, you want to make them WANT to know what is going to happen or what something means, that want will get them hooked into the game. Just saying off the bat that he's the only one who can stop it may ruin the suspence.

Ever play Star Ocean: Till the End of Time? Well the main character, Fate, is kinda like that being as he is the galaxies only hope or whatever. However, he nor the player learn of that till over halfway in the game shortly after the big problem is introduced. The great thing about that game was that you never knew were it was going, if they would have done something like that at the start of the game, they would have ruined the whole plot.

Now some games CAN be good to do that in, but a majority aren't. I can only speak from the games I have played, and I can't say for sure if saying that right away at the start will ruin your game because I haven't played it nor do I know much about it.

My suggestion for an intro would be to show the dying and decaying, say a little about that, but don't mention the 12. Have the hero hear a voice or something from the 13th, but just have it say "help us" or something along those lines. Don't reviel anything about the 12 or 13 yet, don't reveal anything about the powers. Develope all that into the plot as you go along, and don't reviel all the info at once. I believe that'll be a better way to take, then again, it is your game and you probably know whats better ;)
