How do you turn a map you made into a perfect panorama?
« on: May 14, 2006, 09:37:00 PM »
I want to make a scrolling panorama of my map, to give the impression of motion, kinda like being on horseback, (the Burning Grail had one) but it appears very difficult to get the right dimensions to make it identical to the original map. I'm only using the Print Screen button, any other suggestion?

I'd also like to use this method for future battle backdrops, so again it needs perfect dimensions and to look identical to the real thing, how?

Which Final Fantasy 8 Character Are You?

You are Laguna! Although you're way too shy with the opposite sex, you've got a heart of pure gold. You're a good leader and well liked by those who know you. Most of your friends look to your good sense when they need advice.

Use the Print Screen button while you're in the game, then paste and resize it in Paint. Both panoramas and battle backdrops can be created this way.

It's kind of innacurate.. Using 1/2 Zoom and print screen gives ok results.

Yeah, it makes it look better if you're in-game when you take the picture. I find that using the windowed mode of Test Play yields the best results, as you only need to resize it by 50% to get a perfect image.

I edited your title, by the way. It looked like a typo, but if it was intentional, feel free to edit it back.

No, no, no, that is not how you do it.

You go to the map settings, and use the "wrapping" option.
It's called something else in RM2K, but its on the same spot.
Look at attatchment.
Wrapping basically repeats the map either horizontally, or vertically or both.

Unless you want a separate panorama. Then you have to use print screen. But if you just want to scroll the map, this is the way to go.
