FFVII-2D help!

Hey, now, a hypocrite, by definition is "a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he does not hold himself". I'm not being a hypocrite, and you misunderstand when you mention critisizing HIS baby. I'm saying either help, or don't. You are saying it's a wortheless endevor, and that may sound like criticism to the project, but I take that personally and as harm towards Fatboi (the guy who's wanting to make it). You are saying that we seemingly waste our time on foolhardy quest of granduer.

I posted at his site, in case you were all wondering, and said what you have told me. I told him that we really are doing everything unoriginal- music, graphics, plot, everything. I said that people are most likely not going to play it because so many of these have been done before, and that we should probably do something else. Perhaps in the same genre, but make it a sequel or a prequel or something. You know, I got that message only a few times in that whole conversation. The rest was needless, and that really makes me upset because all you had to say was what I said to Fatboi. SUGGEST, if you will. I got angry because you put forth your ideas in a rude and unneccessary manner. If anything, I am free of an hypocrisy in this situation, so don't try and add LABELS now, okay?

Someone said FFVIII would be a good thing for a remake, but I think it would be the same unoriginal thing going on. Believe it or not, I've never played tactics or FF9. Are they really good?

I'd ask for help on my FF: Spiritflow project, but.... Now I'm a little discouraged.

Any FF game remake would be fine as long as its not FF7. FF7 may well be the worlds most overrated game. I really would wanna see an FF9 remake, maybe even an FF Legends remake.

Still, is FF9 or Tactics good? If so, would you say it was better than FF7? I'm curious, what game WOULD you consider for a remake?

No, no. When it comes to RM2K remakes of games like FF7, it does suck. There is no "This is not a good idea. I'll be polite" involved. They've been seen so many times, anyone with common sense should realize not to make it.

Just because the graphics suck on a game does not mean it cannot be as good as the original.

That is like saying "50 Cent: Bulletproof is good because it's graphics are good."

I have played that game.
It's graphics are good, but playing that damn game is lying crawling through glass without a shirt, stomach down.

Sorry, that is what I would have rather been doing than playing that game.

If done well, a 2D FF7 can be a lot better than the 3D.

It can't be alot better, because it isn't the real thing. Strawberry candy can't taste MORE strawberry then the real fruit, because its not. A 2D FF7 remake may be similar to the original, but it won't be the same FF7, and to say it could be a better FF7 makes no sense, because while it may share the same story etc, its not FF7, and it can never be.

Who cares if the game is gonna suck or not? Who cares if the idea was stupid? Who cares if it is not gonna be as good as the original? Who cares if a lot of attempted remakes came before? That's not the point. The point was whether or not anyone wanted to help. For some reason, you want to stop it from happening. It's wierd because it feels like you're not even reading the posts. Can everyone please just give him what he wants?:

Do I wish it wouldn't be made? Yes. Can I do anything? No. But I can still post my opinion. This is in the games section not requests, I can post my opinions on his games and ideas if I so wish.

Both were better then FF7. My only complaint about the one of them is the fact that they HAD to bring Cloud into a side quest in Tactics. I didn't want to play as him in 7, why would I play as him in T? I had him join, took his items, and banished his ***.

It's apparent people REALLY hate that idea. Listen, I'll PM this guy and give mention that a remake is a bad idea. I'll do my best to convince him to at LEAST make a sequel or prequel. Even then, it will still be a sort of cop-off, but it seems better than a remake. Your logic is 100% sound, so don't think I'm not listening. In all honesty, I have FFVI for the PC, so what use would I have for a remake of it on an RPM system when I can have the REAL DEAL?

Despite the fact it came out a little... odd.... I must say I've learned an important lesson, and I thank you all for it. Yes, I did blow up, but I really am glad you guys brought the truth to the light. FFVII + RPM = ... hold on.... haven't I seen this before?
