Favorite RPGMaker Games
« on: June 14, 2006, 11:24:15 PM »
I'm surprised I didn't see this kind of topic. Is this in the wrong section?

I came up with this idea 2 days ago but I couldn't post (for more information, see the Games Section).

It was to post a screenshot of your favorite RM games and tell a little bit about why you liked them. My favorites are:

Seeker of the Sun: Awesome graphics. The storyline about the sun dying and scientists trying to make a person to revive it so everyone wouldn't freeze to death was really good. Every sprite in the game was recolored to match and it had a lot of special effects.

Backstage: The reason Theodore is only used for horror games. Most of the game wasn't scary at all but the sound effects, some of the non-battle scares, and the storyline were scary. It used a lot of stuff from Silent Hill but it had an original twist to it.

Maranda: This was kind of a fanfic/movie. It was a prelude to Final Fantasy 6. Again, awesome storyline that fit right in with FF6. Still the best storyline I've seen.

Extrenia: This was pretty much a rip off from FF but it was still fun to play. It had a lot of special effects and the best battle animations I've ever seen.

So what are your favorites? If you can, post a screen of it. When I can, I'll edit this post to put in the game creators and screens too.

My favorite has to be The Way series, the story is pretty complex, there are 3d maps, bunch of mini-games, a custom plunge battle system, and there are 6 episodes made thus far, I don't have time right now to get a screen though :(

Edit: Actually, I have seen these types of topics around from time to time.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

I haven't played a whole lot, but I guess my favorite is Legendary Adventure. It's a very humorous game.  :sweet:

There's a few, my fave though, LinoG's Destiny's Call Complete. It had a pretty cool idea - you had to eat, go to the bathroom, have sex (LOL) and somethin else, that i do not recall. I used to have it on my old comp, and had all kinds of really nice graphics from it. I wish I could find it again, but it's been discontinued.

Does it drastically improve from part one? I hated the first part. Great graphics, but everything was annoying, particularly the battles.

actually it does. Each part is exciting except for part 6. The Way is just okay for me. Nothing horrible but nothing amazing. Like Dragonblaze said the storyline is very well made though.
