So here´s the thing:

Ok, so my Windows XP isn´t a original copy. Now the freaking **** keeps giving me this alerts telling me that I may have been a "victim" of pirate software! Is there a way to put that out?

Second: my MSN messenger won´t connect at all! I try, try and try and it won´t go! I tried re-installing but still no go! Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

EDIT: Forget problem 2, it was the system date that was wrong! :/

Well if the pirate thing won't kill your windows or have any other bad side effects, you can probably just delete that. Try to figure out which process it is. When it pops up, press ctrl + alt + del, go to processes, and look for it. If you can't tell which it is, try closing random ones, when the alert closes, you know you shut off the right thing.

Remember which process it was. Try to search your computer for that file, if you find it, write it down, if not, read the next step.

If your search couldn't find it, download hijack this (search google for it). When the alert comes up again, run hijack this, click on the file, select fix, and it'll be deleted.

If your search found it, download pocket kill box (find it on google). Enter in the adress of the process, select the option 'delete on reboot'. Click the ok button. reboot your computer, and it should be gone.

Note: if you have so many days to get a new windows or something, I wouldn't advise deleting that process as it might cut your deadline short.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

MY COPY OF WINDOWS IS LEGIT. And it hasn't happened since, so I dunno.

Well you could download/get another pirated version of windows. Or maybe.. just maybe.. you could get a real windows program and avoid all of this.

Thats crazy talk.

Here's what I would do.  Before attempting to do ANY of this, make sure all the files you want to keep are copied elsewhere, perhaps on disks or other computers.  If in the end, you have to format, at least you kept the files that you need.

If you computer is like mine, going into important files at random could mess up your computer.  A similar incident happened to me once, and I attempted to look for the file causing it in my system.  After a long chain of events, mainly me having to go edit another file that messed up because the first one messed up, I had to format my computer and lost everything.

Linux is a cult and should be treated as such.

$300? I can get it for $100 at stores. I'm sure you could buy it from the internet for around that.
