Have you guys ever played The Sample Game that comes w/RPG Maker 2k? It is known as DOn's Adventure. Tell me, what did you guys think of that game?

It comes with RM2K, made by Don Miguel the guy who translated it, its about 10 minutes long and shows off the system.

Umm, well it uses RTP graphics fairly well but still looks abysmal. It's not balanced in the slightest and has the most horrible plot ever. The characters are uninteresting, the music is RTP and not very well used.

But yeah, it's more to "show off" the system than anything. I wouldn't base a game on it...

I liked it, by looking at how that game was programmed, I learned how to use switches and some other basic stuff. It was a good sample game. However, if that was an actual game, I would have gave it a 2/10. It gets a point because the plot doesn't have some big cliche in it, plus the way he called the airship was a rather cool idea.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

picking charecters is easy really.

Just allign the charsets up, have a naked/hodded/masked unisex figure controlled by the player walk around adn when he 'talks' to one of them give a short discription of the charecter and then ask if he/she would like to play as him/her. If player says yes, put that charecter in the party and erase the ghodded or masked dude.
