Highway Robbery
« on: August 29, 2006, 09:25:13 PM »
GameStop is ran by NAZIS!!!

All I wanted to do was to trade in my DS normal for a sleak new DS Lite : Onxy (That's black for those of you who don't know the color of an onyx.). All sounded fine, I mean, My ds has been tourtured by my friends, and I figure since I wanted a black one to begin with, I might as well trade up and get a fresh new start with a new and better system (Longer battery life and brighter display are a few of the upgrades.). I figured this would be fairly easy to do, with my birthday coming up in a few weeks and all... But then I figured, "If I am trading in my DS, I might as well trade in a few other games to try to equal it out a little.."

15 individual things.

DS system with both stylus, AC adapter and Box
Breath of Fire V
Suikoden IV
Phantom Brave
Sonic Rush
Nintendogs Lab and Friends
F-zero GX
Wario World
Metriod Prime
Viewtiful Joe
Bomberman Generation
Harvest Moon: A wonderful Life
Animal Crossing (Gamecube)
memory card (That came with Animal Crossing)
Mario Party 4
Sonic Adventure DX
Radiata Stories

OMGWTFBBQCUTMYSELFOUTOFANGERMIGRAINFORMINGOMGIHATEYOUALLSUCK****YOUGAMESTOP!!!!11111one111eleven!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now that I have a far deepened hate for gamestop..

I would like to state that I have a choice Between keeping either Sonic Adventure DX and Metriod Prime, or Radiata Stories...

Really the only one that I actually like is Sonic Adventure DX, so, who thinks I should keep with ones..

Oh and if you have bad stories about Gamestop or other game stores, please share your stories and profanities.

I got very ripped off I feel.

$1.50 for Metriod prime.

It would help if you actually explained WHY you hate Gamestop, instead of just saying that you do.

Even though EB games is now owned by gamestop, they have better prices and friendlier store clerks.

It's not being ripped off if they tell you how much something is worth and then you say "okay"

I guess he means that it took all that and his DS to trade for the new DS?

Well, that's buisness. I'm you want them to change, e-mail them and say NICELY "Dude, you don't give enough to people for used games" and give points to justify your point, and talk like an informed guy (don't use dude, that's just and example). Or better yet, type multiple e-mails to them using multiple e-mail addresses. Just don't copy and paste the same letter. That's too obvious.

I'm afraid you are mistaken, sir. That is an opinion, as the GameStop clerks at the one near my house are quite friendly. Too friendly, even... "Rape/stalk you" friendly... As for prices, I fail to see much difference. The prices fluxuate by a dollar or two on a bunch of things, and neither one seems to have the advantage in prices. The only real difference is that EB sells used PC games and CDs, and GameStop sells toys, merch, and mangas/animes. From my experience, at least. Prices = checkable online. Selection = area. GameStop = EB Games.
Get the picture?
As for Apex's complaint: those are "old" games by now, as well as "low demand". Sure, it owns, but it's not highly sought after. Also, they buy low and sell high(er) to make a profit. How much does Metroid Prime cost now? About $10 here, so about $5 at the most would be their buying price. And I never sell games, who knows when I'll want to play them again? *coughcoughWorms2cough*. Lastly, the DS Lite is the same thing, but smaller. I think it's an unneccessary extra $50. Like really expensive cheese on your really expensive hamburger. It's nice, but it's really unneccessary, and it's somewhat less healthy.

EDIT: Metroid Prime is $7 now, so lower the selling price to $2 or $3.

I had an EB games store and a Gamestop store in the local mall where i live. Now the stores merged and theres just one Gamestop. Both stores sold the same things, had pretty much the same prices, but I liked EB games better. Unlike the Gamestop, EB games had their games alphebetically organized, plus I applyed for a job at Gamestop and they didnt hire me  _veryangry_

Anyway.. back on topic.

I am glad that gamestop/other used game stores rip people off when buying their used games. It makes it cheaper for the people who buy the used games :)

And I think selling used games is dumb, you only get a few bucks for it, and you're screwed if you want to play that game again. Its only worth selling games if you have the game rom and emulator on your computer and you don't plan on playing it on the actual system again.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Whaddya mean its cheaper? At the GS I go to, you can find a game with one of those sub cases they have that just say the name and its like 30 bucks. And the new version of it is 30. Its crazy.

And that is why I shop at EB games.. There used to be a store naer my house called Megaplay, and they had the best prices, they gave you good deals for used merchandise, and they had an extensive amount of game and anime related toys. Shame they went out of business...

Well, the places around where I live sell new used games for 10 or 20 cheaper than the new one if the new one is $50. Usually the games I buy are from the $9.99 and under bin. A lot of games there are only $5. Otherwise, most used older games are $15 if the new one is $30 and around $12 if the new one is $20.
