actually...... if you dun wanna know, dun read this...

snape made a promise bond (it's not the right term I dun think) with malfoy's mom. If he didn't hold true to his word, he'd die. Draco was suppose to kill dumbledore, supposedly tom was angry with draco's father and decided to have revenge by sending malfoy on a suicide mission. When it came down to it, draco couldn't do it. Dumbledore thought snape was going to help him, but instead snape killed him. Dumbledore believed in the good in people.

For some reason, Dumbledore reminds me of alex..  _sweat_

On-topic: I read 1 through 4. 1 my mom made me, 2-4 I read because my school at the time had the Accelerated reader thing where each book gave points to buy stuff like candy n ****. I MIGHT have read 5, but if I did I don't remember anything but like... talking paintings and the one guy dying. Everything else is blah. I never cared for it, I was just nearly forced to read em.

Harry Potter eh? Well I read the two first books, then it took some time for my brother to finish the third so I could borrow it.

And the fourth, fith and sixth was read during caravan vacation when I was bored at playing FFTA and Pkmn. I think I read the latest on like one day, English words, not Swedish.

But yeah itīs quite good, but a bit "overrated" at least when all the movies and toy came...

And for those who read the earlier pages with spoilers, I believe that Dumbeldore knew that he was going to die, why else would he paralyze poor harry? But even more important, how comes he didnīt realise that the boat cave was a fake?

I'm not a huge fan, despite the fact that I've read each book within days of the release. It's odd, but true. I suppose I must have been a big fan at one point, because I remember that the family bought two copies of one of them so that me and mum could read it at the same time without having to wait. But nowadays I'm pretty indifferent about them :p
I also dislike the movies quite alot. They explain very little, relying on the audience to have read the book. That's not what a film is about.
I'm particularly fed up with Harry. Nowadays the books are mostly about him having mood swings. Wonderful.
Midnight, I agree with you, the third book really was good.

*spoilers*
J.K.Rowlling herself explained that, even though really good at magic, Dumbledore is just human, capable of making mistaques.
He didn't realize the cave was fake, 'cause he thought it wasn't.
He paralized Harry, 'cause he was unsure wether he was going to win or not, therefore he wanted to at least save Harry.

I really disliked that one book, not because Dumbledore dies, but because I just disliked it. Seems one of those books that the only purpose is to open way for the next one, and all that seems now, the next one'll be something like Harry searching for artifacts, pretty much like in FF when you have to go out searching for crystals.

Yeah for some reason while I was reading the sixth one, I was feeling disappointment from the beginning. It took me longer to read <.<

Yeah, the third one was definitely my favorite.  Sirius is a beast.  Damn you Rowling, why did you make him die!!!  :yell:

I read the 5th book in one sitting.  That was some crazy shizz...

I DID NOT SEE THE SPOILER ALERT FOR THAT.

 Thank you.

 Edit: That's better.

I've read all six, and I find that they decrease in quality as the series goes on. The first book would've done well as a standalone book, but the decision to make a series out of it was not necessarily a good thing. Five and Six are basically filler, and Seven will likely be the same thing (hopefully Harry dies in the end).
