Valcon Sky: The Reopening *Completely Redone*
« on: November 17, 2006, 09:41:30 PM »
Name: Valcon Sky
Made By:  Ephiam
System/RPG Maker used: RPG Maker 2003 (RM2K3)
% Finished: 5-6%
Date that this project was started:  Unknown. However, I think it was around November 5-6.

-----------Story-------------

"What is this....this that I have experienced?"
"What is this 'justice' and why do they speak of it so highly?"
"Why must we, in persuit of our goal, only destroy our very selves in the process?"
"Why must the innocent suffer because of our wrongs?"
"They speak of freedom...and yet they in-case their very followers in cages..."

Lies, betrayal, murder, conspiracy. Countless die as the numbers climb ever higher.

Those in the seat of power do nothing. Those with little meaning accomplish great tasks.

A great series of events took place merely  a few years ago. Each woven carefully and neatly, sewn with great precision and care.
Each piece of the puzzle fit perfectly in place with the last.
With each event that occurred there opened a path to the next. A seemingly flawless path in which held no errors. The perfect plan.

All began after the death of one person: Veryl Flameheart. Veryl was put to death on November 7th, 1986, after being accused with manslaughter, accompaniment with terrorists, and conspiracy against the Empire.
Veryl was put to death in Lab 10, a containment facility for those who had committed crimes against the empire and for those who had committed unforgivable sins. However, it's usage was short-lived after Veryl's death.

Shortly after Flameheart's death the facility, Lab 10, had a freak accident occur from the inside which caused a chain of explosions. This monstrous event cost the empire millions of dollars worth of research and equipment. Almost everyone who was inside either died the moment the explosion occurred or shortly after due to either burning or poisoning.

The empire, in fear that their secrets be exploited, targeted those who would have been thought to be the most suspicious: the Zharites. Who else to blame for the deaths of hundreds of criminals other than those who constantly preached about peace and justice?
The media was their way of getting this across. Their lies became their power an the media their courage.

Thus began the events in which would turn the future for the world  for the worst.
-----------------------------
(Not a very good description of the beginning, here. Just bare with me)

The story begins with Aika, a young girl who lives in the peaceful village of Tueel. She lives alone in her parents former home under the watchful gaze of Horen, her admirer and guardian since childhood. However, Aika fears for Horen and herself ever since their village became subject to the "eyes of the empire". She fears, however, more-so for Horen's life than her own.

When Aika returns from doing one of her daily chores for the Elder of her village a great event takes place in which will change her life, along with those around her, forever.

^Ah yes, the Inn. Well....not really. You just check-in here, the beds are upstairs.

^This is one of the most recent. It is the bottom floor of the building which houses the tavern, item shop and the Inn. Yes....quite a mixture indeed =O

^ Here is the Item Shop portion of the building. There is some empty space...but not every space always has to be filled. Sure...it may look better sometimes, but other times it just makes no sense.

They're not that bad, just not overcrowded. For a guy that is so anti-MIC, you sure do try to act like him. Suck-up.

Anyways, I think I remember this and thinking it could use some development. I liked the basic concept though.

I'm talking about their shape. It's square-ish, when alot of sewers are rounded.

Thank you.  I'm trying to work on my map building and story telling through this project.  I find the cave maps better than the sewer parts so far.

Oh..and ZK, This Valcon SKy project is not the same as the other.  It just has the same name along with some character names but a different story.

I actually like the prison map, though the walls could be a tile higher.

Yeah, well I've decided to start over.  I wasn't to fond on anything so far and since I didn't go to far into it I decided to star over again.  Don't worry, I saved my old project so I still have it handy just incase.  Now, however, there will be an entirely new storyline and such.

Here, just because the people here are nice I'll share this opening demo with you. Please, since this is the only place it's going (well..second.Only posting this in two sites) I want at least one piece of feedback. if you play(well..look) at it then tell me what you felt of it: Was it interesting, boring, mind-numblingy boring? Did it interest you in the slightest or was it all horrible? Please, be honest.

I'm downloading now. Tell ya later.

As for the screens, I actually liked them, they weren't bad at all, just a little misguided. Like with the placement of furniture against the wall or the fireplace, but all in all, not bad. Definitely seen a LOT worse.

EDIT: I played a bit of it. I gotta say, it's not bad at all. The maps could use a little work. But the intro kept my attention and seemed like an interesting story. Keep it up.

Only problem was I tried to read a sign and all of a sudden the game over screen pops up. lol, but your events other wise are pretty good and neat.

Thank you. I have also found a few other erros...such as when you answer the question of the bartender his color changes. Also, you can walk on some houses. It's strange that I didn't notice this before.

Oh...and just as a notice to some people: You can do a few things in the bar (the tallest building to the left of town). One of these would be fighting someone.

Oh...and I put that event there because it's to prevent access to the outside. Basically it's a notice that you can't go any further than town.

haha, it might be better to put an event where a message pops up saying "Can not leave due to martial law" or whatever, then the character moves one space back. That will do jsut as well as the gameover, which would get annoying.

Hrmm...maybe. But, when the next demo comes out I'll have no use for that event anymore.

I've recently added a 'Scan" and "Detect" ability to the skills.
