Fortet: Thanks again.  ^^

Immortal Dreamer: Um....anything with a CD in front was either created by/for me, edited for/by me.

Meiscool: Thanks.  Yeah, I realized that since these other characters are pretty big in-game, they deserve full bios.

Carpe Diem
A Review by Immortal

Story (8/10)
I rated what's there so far. I enjoyed most of this. Some of the dialog could have been better, but w/e. I can't really give too many suggestions here, but I want to comment on how much the intro with the scientists resembles Xenosaga.

Graphics (9/10)
I haven't seen many of the main character sets used in this game and liked them a lot. Haru's attack animation was paticularly cool. Good old Mack and Blue chipsets are usually good even though they're overdone.  (I'm using them in my game as well though, so no complaints).

Gameplay (7/10)
Average RPG gameplay. No CBS or CMS. Dungeons get repetitive after a while. Also, that first boss was hard which was a good change of pace. Most rm2k/2k3 games are too easy nowadays.

Music (6.5/10)
I've heard many of these songs in other games, but everything was used well.

Overall (7.6/10)
Good game. I really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work!

Cool, thanks for the review man.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  ^^

And yeah, the intro is a lot like Xenosage I guess.  I do gather my inspiration from that game after all.  ^^'

Update
« Reply #18 on: December 22, 2006, 09:31:34 PM »
Well, it's been a while since I've updated, so let me fill you guys on what's going on.
For the past week or so I've been working on Chapter 3.  Progress has been pretty good, and a lot has been added to the game.  Characters have been updated and the story has branched out some more.  I don't know when I'll have a new demo out, but rest assured the game is going well.

Now for a screen....or two:

The two "supposed" W.A, soldiers find themselves in a situation they never expected to get into.

Haru and Skylar get into their first fight.....well....since the game started anyways.  lol

Hope you guys like 'em.  Comments are appreciated.

Aboutaso:  Thanks a lot.  I like that screen too.  ^^  And yes...Haru will become a bigger part in the story soon.

Hmm...well, it's been a few days and I'm still working on the game.  I'm trying to work towards a new demo.  Maybe once I finish Chapter 4.  I'm still in the beggining/middle of Chapter 3 so that may be awhile.  Rest assured I'm still working hard at the game.  I hope I still have my loyal fans.  Um...I'm open for questions and suggestions if anyone would like to know something about the story or have any ideas I can use.

Thanks for reading.  ^^

By the way...if anybody has played the demo, I would like to know how you thought it was.  Anything at all please.  Thanks.  :p

I suppose I could drop a comment or two here.

On the first screenshot, what is the second W.A soldier doing? Licking the ground? Listening to the rocks? Probably not, so that pose needs to be changed if you ask me. Unless of course it's another situation involving such a position?

As for the second screenshot, you pulled the feel of the scene nicely. Finally the two friends gets into a fight. It is fitting since all good and solid friendships have a fight once in a while. You can clearly see how young Ledron is simply by the way he's sitting on the ground. Give him a lollipop and you're set. Trance sighing is the spotlight here, it shows just how much older he is when it comes to behavior.

Overall, nice work, as always. It's not much to comment about but it shows progress. That's all there is to it.

Thanks BSW.  The first screen is hard to grasp because you have to know what happened before.  Basically, he fell from above, hence the light spot of dirt he's on.  It's good to get a comment worth writing back to.  You pretty much saw what the second screen was trying to show perfectly.  ^^'

Hello all again.  Well, instead of an update, I figure I'd post something cool.  As some of you may know, there is a race in my game known as the Zylacs.  These creatures play a very important role in the story and  will be encountered numerous times throughout the game.  So why not show them off and explain them a bit?  Well, here's exactly that:

The Zylacs are creatures who first made an appearance when the Soul Flames created the Star Stone.  They are deadly creatures who are relentless when in battle.  Very little is known about them, but they seem to travel in massive pacts.  It is very rare to see only a few at a time.  Zylacs appear through rifts in space that appear without warning.  These rifts usually have a purple glow to them, and it serves as a gateway in which the Zylacs can travel through. To date there has only been one man brave...or crazy enough to actually jump into one of these rifts.  He has never been heard of since.  It is unknown what the true purpose of these creatures is, but as far as the world is concrned, life would be a lot better without them.

Now for a few different types of Zylacs.  (All sprites are 100% custom by Bluhman and Spike21).

Hm.....well, I've had these Zylacs in my game since I first posted it.  Their design has changed though....and since the last time I've seen an Umbra, they look nothing alike.  but you may have redesigned them too so I dunno.

If the download isn't working, go to the Games and Demos thread in the Games section.  My latest demo is there.  And yes, I do have faces.  You'll see them in the game.  ^^"
