I lost my internet for a day...

AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS?!! WHY?! AM I REALLY THAT IMPORTANT TO THE AWESOMENESS LEVELS HERE?!!

I oh-so-severely doubt Warxe had any wrong-doings here, so I want vengeance. Whoever did this will pay.

But on a different note, this terrible event leads to a set of mystery and intrigue. I'm all riled up.

Sai, if it's okay for us to know, could you tell us what you've established so far. Like you say, we should all do all we can to find out what's going on, and maybe somebody can elaborate on anything you've found out.

I haven't figured out how to get the most out of my technical options yet and we have no Alex, so I'm mostly relying on my common sense for the theory.

Fact: the threads were deleted quickly, but not at inhuman speed.
Fact: the mod log shows a few odd things during the deletion such as a few minutes break and deleting a thread that was already delete.
Conclusion: the deletion was done by hand by a person, not some sort of program.

Fact: Charas's password encryption system is pretty gewd.
Assumption: people skilled enough to hack the system directly have better things to do.
Assumption: none of the usual idiots that bother us (Raffles and TK) are hackers; they rely more on deception and confusion than technical skill.
Conclusion: It wasn't the result of a direct hack.

Fact: Charas has no tool for deleting multiple threads quickly.
Fact: Deleting individual threads is a pain in the butt.
Fact: The deletion took place over several hours.
Assumption: Someone random that got Warxe's information (such as from a public computer) woudn't have had the knowledge of what they uncovered nor the patience to harm a group of people they weren't involved in.
Conclusion: It wasn't the result of some random guy getting his information.

The conclusions only lead to a few points. Either some brilliant hacker pulled this job, someone used Warxe's computer, or he did it himself.

I need to talk with Warxe himself to try to find the final clues.[/B]

wow, this is turning into a CSI murder case, also, your defense is very much appreciated.

*tries to think of possibilities*
*pictures all the mods gathered like the cast of CSI, warxe somewhat being a grissom (sp?) figure.*

you raise a seriously valid point about all that stuff though, this happened over a long time, and whoever hacked it was either warxe, or someone who has a serious grudge against the site/ the forum gaming.  I look suspicious in this I realize somewhat because of my odd behavor, but its just be having fun, and also, how much hacking can a thirteen year old dude who is already very busy with his own roleplaying game developement?  anyway, I would especially know I'm innocent (I would think) considering I know nothing about hacking, other than offline things on my own computer, and I was busy with school the day it happened, so do I really need to rule myself out as a suspect anymore?

Gah. My Internet has been down last night, and also this morning, and I couldn't come on until after school, and all this happens.

Hmm, there's a small chance that I may have saved a copy of who has won in the Whoever Posts Last Wins game, although I probably deleted it at some point, and I have no idea how up-to-date it would be... but I'm looking for it.
EDIT: It's gone, I must have deleted it.
EDIT 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: I used the Way Back Machine and got the list of winners from way back in APRIL....

And Apex, thanks for remaking the Word Association Game without asking me first, I appreciate it.  _sweat_

God. I havent been around for a couple of days....and BAM!.

Anyone ever give any credit to the idea that somebody just guessed the password?

ten years ago, I used to play this MUD and I guessed a dudes password, after he told me about his Dog, libby.

It was not rocket science.

If it was an act of somebody with a vendetta, im sure they would have targeted something a bit less inane than forum gaming, dontchathink?

I mean, seriously.

Deleting requests, or tutorials, or something to that effect would have been a bit more damaging.

It looks to me like a tastless prank.

And by no means is it CSI, dominicy.

say what you want, that's how I see it. :3   it is an awful lot like an episode, something gets blown up/killed, everyone searches for it, sometimes find out what happened, sometimes don't.  its very similar to the show, just alittle more realistic.  not much more mind you.

The point is, Charas needs Gemini, me, and FFL to survive. We all weren't here, and look hat has occurred!
But yes, 'twas Goody Proctor. She's a witch.

Gemini makes a good point about an easy password.

Warxe, now that you've changed your password, would you post your old one?  It's understandable if you say no, after all, you said that you use one password for many places, right?

Like, if it's warxe, chaos, draconis, or some other warxe-related thing, it wouldn't have taken a genius to log into his account.  Just someone with a lot of time on their hands to read all of his stuff.  The mass-delete proves that they have a lot of time on their hands, so it could be quite feasible.

Why do some people still have around 1000 forum gaming posts? As for me, I've posted in Forum Gaming once since it was deleted and it says I have over 300.
