SO I finally downloaded RPG XP and when I try to open the program I get htis message "Failed to open/use DirectX Audio."
What the hell that means and how do I get DirectX Audio to work?

If you have a new computer or if you're computer recently crashed, it might be because your audio driver/software or directx isn't installed right. Try updating both your audio driver and directx and see if that helps at all.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

I tried to check the audio/DirectX software and I still get the same message.

Maybe you just have a bad version of rmxp then, try downloading a differant one.

yep its probably a bad download because the audio files are corrupt i know coz it happend to me
