How to show someone that you love them
« on: February 09, 2007, 10:23:58 PM »
So yeah, valantines day is coming up, and I was wondering who here planned on doing anything special. I personally don't see valantines day as that special, if you really like someone, you don't need a certain day to show it. However, it can be pretty fun and romantic. Plus I promised my girlfriend that I would make it special since she got dumped on valantines day last year by a person she was going out with 14 months, and yeah. She loves me more than anything, but she has a hard time believing me when I say I love her because she really got burned in the past from stuff like this. Anyway, I got her a $450 journy diamond pendent (normally it is $850, I got it on sale), and she always said how she wanted one, so yeah. I still need to think of something to say or do to make her stop worrying about me breaking up with her since I'm not going to, but I haven't really decided what I'm going to do yet.

So who else here has any plans for valantines day?

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

450, yet your PS3 savings are STILL at 80.

Eh, my Valentines with girls are usually more so geared toward making the actual DAY something to remember, cause I'm a cheap bastard.

Actually, my ps3 savings are at 0, or probably negative right now. :(

I plan on doing something during the day, haven't decided what yet though :( We're only having a half day of school that day, so we might actually go somwhere for lunch or something, but she wants to just chill at my place later at night, she told me she had an idea, but she's not telling me what that idea is.

And yes, I bought a shiny stone. I could have just bought a $10 neclace and gave it to her and said I loved her. But pretty much anyone can do that and say that without really meaning it. Spending a lot of money to get someone something really nice that they really want is ONE way to show that you really do care about them.

Seeing as I'll be spending valentines day away from my sweetheart in New York, it's agreed that I'll be buying a tonne of foreign clothes for her to wear. I'll have to starve myself for a week to make the kind of amounts she's expecting BUT THAT'S LOVE BABY.

Materialism, bah. That's what makes valentines day a day I hate. What I'm gonna try, is finally get that song right that she loves so much on the guitar and play it for her. Now that's love.

I'm not entirely sure yet.. my girlfriend has a school concert thing that she doesn't want to be in, so I think I'll show up without telling her and cheer, and then afterwards have flowers and I don't know, something else.  I'll figure it out..

I give my boyfriends (ZKX and others) sex on V-day. It shows how much I care for them, and what crap I'm willing to put up with.

EDIT: To be a bit helpful, this is to DragonBlaze. I won't claim to know more than you in this catagory, as I'm a lot younger, but I have noticed that girls like to have their flaws pointed out, then washed away. What I mean by this, is tell the person you like almost every flaw (some flaws shouldn't be mentioned, and you'll be able to tell which ones) and just say those flaws are what makes them prefect to you, makes you love them, you wouldn't have them any other way, you still can't believe that she loves you, ect. Cheesey lines are your friends if you say them with enough truth behind them.

Course, not knowing your gf's personality, this could go completely in the wrong direction. However, I've had this work everytime I've used it, though I've only employed it three or so times, and twice to the same person:p

You're a genious. Thats a good idea. Though I don't think that would be a good thing to say on valantines day, to her at least, but saying that at other times might cheer her up a lot. Thanks.
