Sorry, but I hate that show. The characters are simple-minded, the animation is horrible, there is no plot (I just love plots), all episodes are around the shenanigans (love that word as much as plots) of three stupid guys, but no haha stupid, just... stupid. Not a anime...
Hardly any American cartoon has a plot...

But no, it's one of those things that should have died sooner. Like Cartoon Network, or at least the Adult Swim Part. Anywho. There are only so many jawbreakers one group of kids can consume. As for plot.... well, I guess it's like a good brainless cartoon..... totally brainless.

I've been a fan of Ed, Edd, and Eddy for quite some time, however I found it somewhat odd and out of place when they began having the episodes where they were at school. Just seemed to me that they were running out of ideas (which is understandable).
I was also bothered by the fact that they were the only students in the whole school, but then again it wasn't really intended to be a serious show I guess. *shrug*
Not the best show, but I've most certainly enjoyed watching it occasionally over the years.

You point being that I can't compare cartoons and anime, things that are essencially alike apart drawing style, because you said so?

 Then I give you Family Guy. It's a cartoon, not well draw, not realistic, with no plot whatsoever, based on steryotipes (pretty much like E, E & E) but which is 10 times better than Ed, Edd and Eddy, because the jokes, (most of which aren't even original) are well done and not predictable.
