The other batmans sucked.  **** Tim Burton.

Batman Begins FINALLY took a non-pussified, non-kid friendly stand on Batman and put it in real life.  They gave real explanations for everything that were BELIEVABLE and didnt sound it came out of a comic.

Not to mention, robin is an ultra super-duper fag and I hate him.

I think you are forgetting a few things... Batman IS originally a comic, which was meant for kids. Kids loved the movies because they were so unrealistic and futuristic. If you don't like Batman for what it really was, then you don't like Batman, you like some crappy action movie staring a rich guy in a black costume fighting a wacky scientist wearing a burlap sack on his face that spits out hallucinogenics. This new stuff is as much Batman as that crappy cartoon that came out late nineties... what was it... Batman next or something? Robin was cool by the way.

THANK YOU!

Even though I'm still a little pissed about Venom, I'm gonna go back to how I say a film based on a series should't focus on the fans alone. They should create a good movie for those who aren't familiar to the series.

With that said, Begins was ****ing FANTASTIC. Good acting, great thematic storyline, a believeable world, this was the best film out of them all, even though it alluded to the comics (Took me a while to find out "Raysh Algool" was the same soul-sucking dude), it didn't make it seem like it was a comic book and it was a good movie because of it.

LISTEN TO REV.

DO IT.

I like this Joker.

I loved the first first Batman movie. It's my favorite.

I loved the comics. They were fun for to me be reading.

I loved Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond. All others after that suck.

I haven't seen Batman Begins, but I didn't like what I saw in trailers, commercials, and other promos. I only hope that they stay true to the characters and don't make it something stupid.

I know batman is originally a comic.  But that doesnt mean the original comic was cool.  I think the original comic sucked and was corny as all hell.  Its not the comic that was cool, its the concept of a darker, more willing-to-****-you-up hero that I like, and the fact that someone FINALLY looked passed fans that wanted to see an exact image of the comic on screen is awesome.  **** what the kids want.  This movie isn't made to impress the kids.  I, and a whole shitload of other people,  want a REALISTIC Batman that isnt held down by whats "acceptable" for the younger generations and you know what? Batman Begins brought us that.

Even the villains in Batman have so much wasted potential it disgusts me.  The Joker? Two-Face? The Riddler? Do you realize the amount of potential fucked up **** these guys could do?  They're INSANE.  Their minds are UNSTABLE and they WANT TO KILL.  Yet Batman comics have these bad-asses robbing banks.

Robin was terrible.  He did nothing but drag the Dark Knight down.  A sidekick? Nobody likes those.  He did nothing but make Batman look like a child rapist and **** up EVERYTHING by getting kidnapped.

You seem like the kind of guy that will hate the new Transformers movie because they changed the cardboard box designs that ONLY WORK IN CARTOON FORM.

SUMMARY:

I dont like Batman comics.  I like the Batman concept.  You dont need to follow word for word the original Batman comic to be a batman movie.  If you didn't know,  there have been TONS of Batman spinoff comics and graphic novels that are IMMENSELY different from the original.  They're still batman.

I agree pretty much with everything Rev said. In comics and cartoons, cheesy is okay. In movies, cheesy is just bad and horrible to sit through.

Batman Begins wins over the other batman movies because we actually got to know the bat. He wasn't a boring, block of granite superhero. He's an excentric rich man with human problems that is fueled by bitterness and the desire for revenge. A little character development goes a long way (not a lot: see Spiderman movies for how this can ruin everything...). Plus, the villans plot in Begins is just so captivating... the right amount of insanity and believability.

Good show all around.

I lol'd at that. Like seriously.

I dunno, I like tim's movies, I mean Jim was an aswome riddler although he would've been a better joker.. And not all the bad guys were trying to rob banks. I mean, yeah maybe in the early comics they were but not towards the 90's and up..

Joker was willing to make everyone insane or kill them all just to get batman's attention. I think Joker wanted to know if the batman was human. Harley just followed Joker around cause she was in love. Riddler was just getting revenge on people who did him wrong in the past, although a bank here and there was robbed. Two-faced was just some corny mob guy, I must admit... Clayface was a horrible actor who just lost it. Mr. Freeze spent most of his time looking for a cure for his wife and took his anger out on everyone. Poison Ivy was a plant freak (lame).  Catwoman liked to steal jewelery ect that involved cats and penguin liked to steal things that involved penguins which is also lame..

So ya see, not all of them were bank robbers!!

Also.. Robin was better as Nightwing, less of him there. Batgirl... well.. I like her in the new batman, and robin was also better in teen titans.

Yeah....

Robin sucks.

Batman begins was okay in the middle but I hated those secret cult guys led by Liam neeson, for some reason.

The first Tim burton batman is amazing, and a lot of you seem to be impyling that Robin was in it which he wasn't until movie three (When it began to suck. Note the pattern)

I am looking forward to this one, but I can't see it being better than Joker's previous movie.

I lol'd at this part. I do agree with you though.

Batman 1 was amazing. I'm pretty sure too that it was the only one of the for actually done by Burton. I could be wrong about though.

Only part I didn't like about it.

There are so many things wrong with that scene...

Oh si, I don't really remember much from the 90's but I do recall him with his stupid double-sided quarter. Everytime they showed him, he had his gang and was always trying to rob a bank or kill someone. He didn't really interest me much... *shrugs*

Yeah. Shut up though. Frank Millers Dark Knight series was not kid friendly, and from what I understand, there are connections, aside from the title.

Tim Buton loused batman. The origonal Jack Nicholson Joker was the only good one from the older late 80s/90s films. And tim burton was eager to ruin the franchise.

There are batman series written by all sorts of non child friendly writers. In the "golden age" of comics, yeah, it was all kid friendly. And the Silver age too.

But Batman's franchise has, in the later ages of comics, Always Had two faces. The animated kiddy version, and the darker, more adult version.

****, Even in the golden age, there was a few mini storys that dealt with some heavy issues in batmans psyche.

The latest franchise installm, ents have just tried to tone down the presence of prince, danny devito,  arnie and other cheesy bullshit.

Not likling the kiddy batmanz, is not disliking Batman. And its not buttering up to any movie trend. Theyve just taken a more...educated standpoint in the movie's concept production direction etc.

If you dont liike a Darker Batman, because it has no pink kitty logos. masked fruitcake teenage boys and arnie in a cryosuit..then....yeah. You should be reading something a bit gayer than batman. Perhaps theres a sonic comics you could have a good time with.

Seriously. Dont be an Ed-Bag.
