Green box around characters?

I know there's a FAQ for that, but when I need it I can't find it.

Could someone help please?

And also, is it okay to save maps and other resources from this site to the RTP folder of RPG Maker 2003?

When importing something, click on the background. That will make the background transparent.

It's better to save things somewhere else and then import it, rather than saving it to the RTP folder.

The fact you get a green box around the characters is because you're saving everything to the RTP folder instead of importing it.
If you delete all your custom resources from the RTP and save them somewhere else, then import them one by one, you'll get rid of those pesky green boxes in no time.

When something like that happens, I press PrintScrren, go to adobe, eyedrop on the black (in your case) and color the background of the sprite black. Then it works fine for me.
