Terragen: first try!
« on: January 16, 2004, 01:52:34 AM »
Do you know that fantastic tool named  Terragen?

Well, i did some first experiments with it.
So be prepare to a triple post, and tell me what you think.
Consider this is a really basic experiment, i did not use any advanced funcs yet. Both images are from the same map (different camera pos).
In one word, just testing the tool! ;)

If you're a terragen user (or tester) feel free to post your creatins too.
Just please no more than 320x240, to keep the forum readable.

Now, the first one:

I am not familiar with the program, so I have no idea how advanced those are and how hard it was to make them.

That said, they are EXCELLENT looking landscapes! The sunset one turned out especially nice!

I just tried installing Terregan and this error message came up:

EDIT: I tried it again and another error came up that said "integer divide by 0"

I can only suggest to try it!
One extra thing i've to say is that the water render is the greatest i've ever seen: and consider that with water really more than this can be done.
Just give a look at the  Luc's gallery to see what it can really do.

And about my sunset: here you can see the 1024x768 high definition rendering. Zipped, of course ;)

EDIT:
FFL2: Don't really know what to say... Terragen is one of the few softwares that gimme no troubles at all...
But give a look here, maybe this helps?

May you post a 320x240 jpg example of your creations?
Mine was made with a random landscape too.
