« on: June 25, 2007, 08:27:56 AM »
I've ran out of animes to watch and there's a huge Ani Con coming to my town soon like they do every year and I'm looking to buy some new DVDs so can anyone recommend me any Animes?
If it's been on TV I've prolly already seen it.
Such as Tech Tv, Adult Swim, Fox..WB..

Great Teacher Onizuka: (Comedy)
The Law of Ueki: (Action with a mix of "One Peice" like quirkiness. "Leans more on the action side of things though.")
Elfen Lied: (Gore, Romance, Drama, and Sadness mixed into one.)
Death Note: (I REALLY recommend this one. Suspense Thriller.)
Tenjou Tenge: (Action at its finest! Then after like episode 10 its all drama.)

Everyone keeps telling me to buy Death Note...

So it shall be done. =D

I'll check them all out.

I've saved up cash for the past 4 months for the Con so I'll be cool.
Also there's always people up there trading Anime like Yugioh cards. lol

If you have a fast forward button handy, I say X. Unless you like watching psychics being insanely sketchy. The story is worth it, though. Thank God for remote controls.... without mine, I would be lost in a sea of sketchy....

Death Note.

Also... Fate Stay Night (Action) is really great too. I don't know a single person that's watched the entire series and doesn't think of it as their favorite anime.

Eremertar Gerade is pretty cool too, it is exactly like FSN only a kiddier version.

No, no, no, not the movie. The movie is wretched, and is really not the original story. Also, most of the good characters were scrapped. Aggravating, that. No, check out the anime, but like I said, there's more than a sprinkling of ick. *shudder*
The things I work around for great storyline.

Azumanga Daioh.

Not action, but it's a radical anime.

To be honest, I hate MOST anime.  Its all laced with some corny heroic storyline and lame jokes.  Even the art style is annoying.  I think artists in Japan need to stop reusing the SAME METHODS with EVERY CARTOON THEY MAKE.  But there are a few gems that I have seen.

Samurai Champloo
Ergo Proxy
Paranoia Agent

Although Im sure you've seen those.  These are a little harder to find:

Dead Leaves
Mind Game
Paprika (****ing LOVE IT)
Tokyo Godfathers

Also, just read the Deathnote manga.  Its alot better IMHO.
