Battle Chars?

Ok, i've seen people post a lot of Battle Char sets on this site.. i've also seen them in use in some games. I have one question: How do i use them in a game? :S
i've only ever used the rubbishy system without sprites of characters.. I would love to use this in my game, so could someone please tell me how to do it?

2000, but i also have RMXP to use for other games that i want to look better

Hey Zeck, just so you know, battle chars are made specifically to work in RM2k3, it's the only RM with a side view battle system, RM2k and RMXP both have front view battle systems. I think there are prehistoric CBSs for RM2k that use a side view battle system, and i've also seen side view battle systems in RMXP, but I have no clue how either of these are done.
