I think I found the third layer!!! There is a little button called Passage Settings with a little orange dude as an icon. On the B, C, and D layers you can click around on the tiles until you get a star! Kinda sucks that you can only have one tileset though. I can't figure out how to change the backgrounds either so I can't animate them yet.

Where?

*Raises hand* Can I ask you a question?

It depends. There is actually a little trick to the graphics. If you stick a $ or a ! symbol in front of the names of your resources, this will change the sprite size or the tile structure. I managed to get a giant door for my main character. lol

What do you mean? Can we use XP graphics on VX or not?

The Charasets should be 384*512 pixels. Only 3 frames compared to XP's 4 though.

I thought I said that. x_x

They're altered. Cut and Paste your XP Charasets to look like the one given. It's a 3 * 4 animation. It goes (From the top) down animation, left animation, right animation, up animation. You only have 3 walking frames. If you are used to RM2k3 you should be able to figure it out.

Just import the charaset above and play with it for a while.

WAIT!!! I got an inspiration! I will make an "RMXP to RMVX Charset Converter"!

lol, I should be able to make it fairly quickly, but I need to know a few little things. (since I have no interest in actually downloading VX for myself)

1. Is the size fixed in RMVX charsets? Or can it be any size like XP? If its fixed, what size is it?
2. You say its rm2k3 style? You mean 4 columns and 2 rows of charsets and the same format/dirrection/location for all the walking poses correct. (Meaning the only differance between the two is the size of the image file(

3. Is there a limited color depth?

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

Alphachannels shouldn't be a big deal, I'm pretty sure I know how to set them, if not, can't you double click the background when importing them (like the other verisons of rpg maker)?

So it can be any size, but then all of the charsets on the sheet will have to be basically the same size.

Yeah, can you send some over?

Its awesome to see this moving foward. Good job guys!

There is a XP->VX script converter out already, and it seems to be doing a great job! Maybe I can move on to VX too, let's keep it heated up!
