I hadn't thought of it that way..  I'm kind of conflicting on this, to be honest.  I won't say the kid deserved it, but I can say that the kid can't be too smart.

Even if the kid's friends pulled him out when he couldn't breathe, something makes me think he'd regret that he did it in the first place for all his life.  Unless I'm mistaken, the sand would have done some hearing and eye damage.  Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusion, I never do pay that much attention to science.

The only good that can come out of this is if Naruto recieves some kind of repercussion. Like they get sued into destroying their television series forever.
