Just downloaded Anvil Studios, and I made one song, and it sucks.

I am also working on the song "The Rose."

The intro was kinda cool but then... Why on earth didn't you add another instrument? :p You just kinda played random keys after the intro.

The rhythm is very misleading.  I was just waiting for that instrumental staircase typa thing.  You left me hanging.

The Intro was nice, but after that the midi seemed to be simply slapped into place.

I agree with what everyone is saying. It started off interesting. I would have at least four primary tracks (melody, counter melody, bass, drums) and then work with creating a distinct melody (verse and chorus is a common, but effective method) and finally try harmonizing. Also, I noticed that the drums were only toms. It sounded like you could've had a nice beat there using the usual kick, snare and high hat (kick = C3, snares = D3 and E3, closed high hat = F#3, open high hat = Bb4). Try using more of those for your drum track. It's best to begin with just the kick and snare.

Keep working on it! :)

This new song is still in the works. It is an intro to a theme song for a character in my game.

A basic Saria's Song/ Lost Woods. I think I screwed up at the end, though.

EDIT: Anyone know if this song is in 4/4 time or 3/4 time? I'm going to add broken chords as the harmony.
