Is this possible in ABS?

One of the major things that's wrong with ABS games is how you can only play as one character, unlike DBS, and CBS, where you control everyone in your team. In my ABS game, I just have it so you can switch in and out with party members, so they do, kinda, all help out and do teamwork.
But I've been thinking if it was possible to make it so they do help you fight DIRECTLY. What I'm thinking, is that whenever you enter battle, and get teleported to the battle field, I want your two other team members to appear beside you, and I want them to run around and attack the enemies as well. I still want you to be able to switch who you play as though.
So, is it possible to have an AI ABS Ally? The major thing I'm confused about is how to make an event trigger when it colides with another event (All of the trigger stuff say if Collision with Hero, not another event...) And I also want to know how to make it so that the allies are smart, and manuver around obsticles, and chase down foes. If anyone got any ideas, please tell me! If you think it's not possible, then tell me anyway so I won't be poking that thought all the time!

Techinically, a ABS is a CBS, as it is done with event coding. All the stuff you listed is possible, but will take unholy amounts of coding. For something of this scope, you may wanna try RMXP or RMVX

yes indeed. In more up to date makers, you have the option of importing AI scripts and such. Youre going to need some pathfinding, visualrange, AI and a million other little things, none of which i know how to do with 2k3

Wow, I really didn't know it was that complicated. Well, I guess I can't really get another RPG Maker, because don't those other ones cost money? And I don't know if I can import everything I got done in my game now on RPGM2K3 to programs like XP and VX. I guess I'll just throw this idea away, and stop torturing myself, saying party members could be more helpful than just as a switching thing.
