Midis won't play

this weird thing started happening with my game yesterday. None of the midi files will play- in test play, or when I try to just listen to them in RM2K3. I've restted my computer and everything, it still won't work. The odd thing is, if I open up windows media player, and start playing a midi, it plays the midi that's cued, as well as the midi RM2k3 should be playing. When I hit stop, it stops the cued midi, but the rm2k3 midi keeps playing. It just started yesterday, and I haven't made any changes to my computer at all. I've tried reimporting the songs it still doesn't work. :-/ I just realized my game was 1gb yesterday, so I replaced all the music with midis...now they won't work >.< I don't know if my rm2k3 is just spoiled cause of the mp3 files I used to have.

Two solutions.  I could give you my 10 minute long blank MIDI and you can play that whenever you're doing anything in RPGmaker or RPGmaker games and that'll make the ingame music work, or the easier, go into your volume tab, right click and open volume control, and turn SW SYNTH all the way up.  That SHOULD fix it.

It works now. Sorry...

...for some reason every time I open Windows Media Player, it drags the SW Synth volume back down. So even if I put it up, I have to re-put it up every time I open WMP
