Help requested, trying to match RTP/Rmk2.
« on: August 30, 2008, 09:48:04 PM »
Note: Every time I say RTP in this post, it can also mean Rmk2. I just had a bit of a label issue.

So, I've been searching around the boards for resources, guides, and other general things that I need to know and use, and let me just say that I have found a lot that I have needed to get (which is one of the reasons why my post count is basically null). Found some helpful coding tutorials, found a post about fixing midis to perfection, and found some good character sets for random NPCs. After extensive searching, I still have't found everything I need to progress through the development of my game. Most of these come in the form of things I need made. My spriting skills are non-existant so if anyone would be willing to help, I'd greatly appreciate it _sweat_.

A little background before I begin begging for assistance. My game is a Kirby-based RPG. Yeah, the pink puffball that eats things. It does not take place on Popstar though. The story takes place in the human kingdom of Myristia. If you want to get the story, PM me and I'll fill ya in (Don't want to accidently advertise).

So far, I've got the two main characters. Raif who is the generic hero for RPG Maker 2003 and Zaiden, a modification of Sword Kirby I have done. I am fine with using the Hero1 RTP set for Raif because it more or less matched what I wanted him to look like (even though some people don't want to see the RTP genericness).  Zaiden looks fine as far as his BattleChar Set and his regular Charset are concerned, but his Faceset leaves more to be desired. What I need made is an RTP version of Zaiden's faceset to match others. The other things are close enough.

Zaiden Charset
Zaiden BattleChar Set (Part 1)
Zaiden BattleChar Set (Part 2)
Zaiden Faceset

One of the first to join your party is a female Biospark named Ayame. She will be the fourth (The second will be a human mage of some sort that I am working on and will probably need a faceset for later). I tried making a charset, but it didn't turn out well at all due to the complexity of her outfit. I need an RTP Faceset and a charset as well. It can be a modification of this 4 directional kirby sprite

Ayame Battle Character (Part 1)
Ayame Battle Character (Part 2)
Four Directional Kirbies
(Note: The Kirbies were found somewhere else, I just can't remember where)

And lastly, I am trying (in vain) to find chipsets that match fairly well to the RTP. I've looked around and seen some nice chipsets, but none of them match. Most look like they are from SNES games and they feel like your characters have stepped into a different world. I really need some RTP styled chipsets that look like the following. I know they are out there, I'd just like some links to find them.

  • Japanese Village
  • Mountain Village
  • Castle Town
  • Japanese Style Castle (Not neccesarily needed, but it'd be nice)
  • Any other RTP Styled chipsets that you could point me to.
:D

I greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Actually, the chipset you posted is exactly the style I need. I looked at some of yours in your Japanese/Chinese post and got a few of those. They aren't exactly the style I am looking for, but they are great nonetheless. I won't be needing a Japanese Castle style in a long time, so let me know when you get that chipset done. I'm working on the west part of the continent right now.

Thanks, I didn't find some of those the other day. :D Also. a friend of mine is working on the other sprites that I needed as far as the characters are concerned. I only need a few things before I proceed now.  :)

Prioritized Top (Most important) to Bottom (I don't need it yet)
  • RMK2 Styled Castle Town
  • Varying RMK2 Styled Dungeons
  • RMK2 Styled Japanese Castle Exterior (Unless you can make one out of one of these sets you provided Wolf
