Well, just so not to get your guys too disappointed: The graphics weren't the best, and the story was pretty cliché.

I saw the screens. Looks good enough for me. I'm, at least I hope, a renowned gameplay>all type of guy.

A new Castlevania is coming out for the DS on the 21st of Oct. That'll give ya something to look forward to.

Order of Ecclewhatever, yeah. But like I said, I dont play portables at home and my DS phat is too big. DS light is too small to play comfortably.

Picked up Metal Slug Advance and the Dr. Mario/Puzzle league combo pack.

SO worth it.

*looks around*  No one mentioned Golden Sun?

I read a handful of reviews of the game a few days ago, and it really pissed me off.  Despite what the reviews say about cliched plot, mediocre battle system, blah blah blah, it seems they're just pissed off because it wasn't something revolutionary.   I got the game right when it came out and I have to say everything it does, has pretty much been done before, but most of it has never been done so well.

I'd say my only complaint about that game is the occasional drawn out conversations where the same thing is said 4 separate times by 4 separate people.  But I won't sell off a good game just for that.

Try it.

God damnit.

OMG I can't believe I forgot about that.

I never bought the original, but I did get the second one and it was most likely the best handheld rpg I've played thus far. The combo of semi-difficult battles and witty puzzle solving made the game a real change compared to the traditional rpg.

About the Final Fantasies for the GBA--they DO have some nice new features!

FFIV does have some slowdown and glitches in battles, but it features something that the new FFIV for the DS can't compare to (or doesn't even have): the ability to use any party member in the last dungeon. So, feel like using Palom, Porom, Edward, Yang, and/or Tellah? You're all set! ^_^

FFV....well, it has a better translation, as well as new classes (like the Necromancer).

FFVI features some reworked gameplay elements (for example, the old invisible/Warp glitch is no more), as well as new graphics for the relics, a new 100-battle dungeon aaaaand....that's about all I remember...

Other great games for the GBA:

Riviera: The Promised Land - Repetitive, yes, but it's worth a shot if you haven't played the PSP version.
Yggdra Union - The toughest SRPG you'll ever play--moreso than the PSP version.
Gunstar Super Heroes - Okay, so it's not as good as the original Gunstar Heroes, but it's still good enough in it's own right.
Advance Guardian Heroes - Ditto.
Astro Boy: Omega Factor - Simply put, one of the best (if not THE best) action games for the GBA. It is a mandatory 'must have'.
Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand - The solar sensor isn't as gimmicky as you think; the puzzles in the game are great, the gameplay is a decent rework of Metal Gear Solid, and the Azure Sky Tower brings insane replay value. One of my personal faves.
Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django - Ditches the Solar Gun in favor of a more action-RPG experience. Still quite good, although it has more moments where you NEED to be in the sunlight.
Shining Force - A remake of the original Shining Force for the Sega. It's really good!
Tactics Ogre - It's a Tactics Ogre for the GBA. It's not as good as the predecessors, but better than most other SRPGs for the GBA--it rivals FFTA, as a matter of fact.
Metroid: Zero Mission: Another must-have action game.
Megaman Battle Network 3 - It's more of a 'best when played in multiplayer' game, but still plenty of fun.

Kudos for having Drill Dozer, BTW! I hope I helped...

Tellah?

[SPOILER]
Sorry, but I have to point out that you mean Cid here. They don't let you use Tellah because he's the only character whose death they actually show. Everyone else is left up to the player to decide (save for Edward, who never actually dies), so they let you use them again.

Riviera: The Promised Land - Boring
Yggdra Union - TOwned it for 3 days. Boring
Gunstar Super Heroes -Beat it on emulator
Advance Guardian Heroes - Wat
Astro Boy: Omega Factor - Beat on emulator. Would like to own but hard to find
Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand - Played it when it first came out. Beat like the first 2 vampires. The sun necessity pissed me off
Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django - If sun is required, **** it. I dont play when Im outside, I'm actually doing things
Shining Force - Beat the original on the Genesis. The new style pissed me off when I almost bought it years ago
Tactics Ogre - I've actually wanted this for awhile. Just can't find it
Metroid: Zero Mission- ...I think I typed that I own it
Megaman Battle Network 3 - Best of the series, yes. But I already beat it and the piss poor level design deterred me from another play through.

As for Golden Sun, it was my second GBA game after Legacy of Goku 1. I traded it to my bro for 10 bucks to buy Medabots. Worth it. I bought the second the day of release and it was stolen I think a few years ago. Either that or I misplaced it.

Let me just say this now, I'm not playing Final Fantasy again. I already beat them, I'm not going to pay 10 bucks so I can button mash A incessantly.

About the whole thing with Tellah: Thanks for correcting me. I really wish that the same 'bring them back' feature was implemented in FFIV for the DS, though--it's much better than the whole business with the Augments, from what I've heard. Then again, Adult Rydia in 3D....
