Non charas games
« on: December 26, 2008, 07:08:41 AM »
I thought it might be a good idea to mkae a thread where we can post indie games that might not have been shown off here. If you have any to show, just post em here. They dont have
I'll start. to be RPG maker, just DONT post commercial games.
Speluenky

This game is best described as a platformer with rougelike elements. When i say Rougelike elements, i mean that every level is randomly generated, and once you die, you are dead forever. All the terrain is completely destructible. It was made in game maker. It is a great little game, definetly worth the download.

Alter Aila: Genesis

This game, made by Neok from GamingWorld, is a remake of one of my favourite RPG maker games ever made. It is full of custom systems, well done plot, and it is an overall great game. Read the GamingW topic for more details.

Bear in mind this is still a demo. It is a remake in progress of this game:

And now for the actual demo link:

Seiklus

Seiklus is an open world adventure platformer, with simple, pleasing visuals, and amazing music.

IMO, the best gamemaker game ever made.

That being said, download it here.

No seriously. Do it. Now.

I like the Idea beheind this thread. It helps pepole looking for custom made games for the various makers, which is why I started looking on the forum originaly. I forsee a sticky in this thread's future if this trend keeps up. I unfortunelty don't have the links to some games i'd like to put up here, but i'm going to go find. Just incase I can't any one have a link to Ara Fell, or the War of Two Worlds? I love both those games and i'd defaintly recomend them.

Seraphim Flame
This fairly fun game has a unique story, fairly awesome gameplay, and pretty good graphics...even if the tilesets are a little bit bare, every now and then

Well, it´s definitely not for hardcore gamers. But it is extremely well made (especially for a gamemaker game), and to fully appreciate it, you´d have to play through the whole thing.

Cube 2 (Sauerbraten)

At first glance, Sauerbraten is "just another indie FPS." It doesn't look special...

But here's where you're wrong. What other indie FPS features an edit mode, that allows you to dynamically create and edit maps in real time, in-game, cooperatively online? Yeah, none. That's what I thought.

Sauerbraten's engine is extremely easy to use, and it also sports some pretty impressive eye-candy, such as dynamic lighting, and water/glass reflection and refraction.

Oh, and also, there are guns. And you can shoot things/people.

See? There's something for everybody. So go pick up the latest version here for free. You won't regret it.

Well, that's interesting.

The graphical settings can go pretty low, if you want them too.

The Way.  The plot is a twisted and confusing (in a very, very good way) but surprisingly well done mess that, if you're anything like me, will leave you thinking the game was all build-up and no delivery (in the case that you weren't paying extremely strict attention, and weren't doing any guess work along the way) or the greatest plot for a game in quite some time.  This game is easily the best game I have ever played, period.

One added bonus is it's the game that first introduced the program Bryce to me, and is packed from beginning to end with (if I recall correctly) literally hundreds of pre-rendered, 3D panorama backdrops for both the map and in battle.

The game gets steadily longer in each chapter.  It's not too hard to finish the first chapter in less than five hours, but, in my own experience, near impossible to do everything there is to be done in the sixth and final chapter in less than fifteen or so hours.

Play it.  Now.

I actually hated the way's prerendered backgrounds. They didnt mesh well with the charsets and they seemed to come on at random, rather than being consistent throughout the game.

Anything in the Trilby series.
They were low bit and old school, but youll shiit some brix

Yumme Nikki as well. No plot at all. Confusing and frustrating. But the custom graphics and surreal stuff is fluffy bunnies one minute, and dripping bloody phalluses and bizzarre interactions with inanimate objects the next.

I have no links, because google is easy to use.
