Indeed.

You see I made him something of a jokey, none too strong character, yes?  I like to think he'd sort of be the Dan of Smash Bros.
Elaborate to me who this "Dan" fellow is. I don't exactly follow Street Fighter, so I don't fully understand your post.

Dan Hibiki is a laughably weak, pink-clad character in Capcom's Street Fighter series.  He was created to poke fun at Capcom's main compeditor for the fighting game market, SNK.  Among his jokey attributes are a tiny fireball with very short range, a move where he signs his name on a piece of paper and throws it at his opponent (does very little damage), and a super move which is just a long, complicated series of taunts.

Wow. That's...

Ugh. I can handle a joke, but that goes a little too far.

Whee, next guy.

-FULL NAME:Red Pyramid
-FIGHT NAME: Pyramid Head
-FROM: Silent Hill
-CLASSIFICATION: Heavyweight. He can do some serious damage, but is very technical in his execution. Extremely slow, and actually only of average weight. However, he's completely invincible from attacks from the front, when doing normal, non-attack moves, such as walking or standing. Long range, slow attacks, and will make his enemies pay when he finally gets his hands on them!
-BIO: A manifestation of the town of silent hill, apparently made in the image of cultist executioners, and the products of desires for punishment to those trapped in the town.
-FIGHTING STYLE: He uses the great knife, as well as his supernatural powers, such as general disorientation and summoning black tentacles.
-STORY ROLE: Guardian for the bad guys. He gets betrayed by the bad guys and switches sides, I guess.

-ENTRANCE: Static shows up on the screen, obscures everything. Suddenly, Pyramid Head is visible!

-SMASHES (optional): Foward - Giant swing; a longer charge will create a larger shockwave from the blade. Slow, does a lot of damage, and potential for great range, but while charging, Pyramid head is vulnerable from the front.
Up - Upwards stab; takes a long period to execute. Interestingly, he's actually vulnerable from the top when charging.
Down - Dark explosions; Pyramid head puts away the sword, and charges up dark energy in both hands. When released, it makes two powerful explosions that surround him on either side. He's weak from both sides when doing this!

-SPECIALS:
Neutral - Spear; Pyramid head exchanges his sword for a spear. Charge it up to increase its stabbing range!
Foward - Dominate; Pyramid head lunges foward in an attempt to grab his foe. If he lays fingers on them, he will begin to... Well, do some pretty terrible things. Builds up a lot of damage, but no knockback.
Down - Recovery; A move that lowers Pyramid head's damage meter, but will only heal him if fully charged up. Pyramid head is very vulnerable when doing this ability!
Up - Tendril grab; A tether move where Pyramid head throws up dark tentacles from underneath his helmet to grab above fighters or platforms.

-TAUNTS:
1 - Moves head around, and groans in pain.
2 - Slowly advances, menacingly, in the direction he faces. He's actually invincible from the front when done.
3 - Swings blade around a bit, fancily, then points forward and beckons.

-VICTORY: Beckons with left hand, as he approaches the camera slowly, dragging his blade in his right.

-FINAL SMASH: Otherwordly cry - When executed, an Air Raid Siren begins to sound; static appears around the edges of the screen, and the colors become muted and brownish. All characters, regardless of what they're doing, become stunned by this, grasping their heads in pain, while Pyramid head can keep moving about to deal some powerful blows.

another one. (i'm a bit of a fan of obscure games...)

-FULL NAME: Yuki
-FIGHT NAME: Yuki
-FROM: Grandia 3
-Classification: Speedy. His sword attacks are quick, but have limited range. By contrast, his magic attacks are slow, but tend to have good reach and damage. The key to playing Yuki is to overwhelm foes to build their damage, then finish them with a spell or tech when they let their guard down.
-BIO: A young boy living in an idyllic village with his mother. Yuki has ambitions of being a world-class pilot, and spends his free time building and testing aircraft with his best friend, Rotts. He wants to fly to the mainland, and someday dreams of matching the legendary pilot, Schmidt.
-FIGHTING STYLE: Yuki uses a medium-length sword, and utilizes lightning/wind magic. His sword attacks are fast but short-ranged, while his magic and skills are slow but powerful.
-STORY ROLE:Most likely neutral at first, but decides to fight for the good guys when he sees the evil the bad guys are doing.

-ENTRANCE: His plane flys by overhead, and he drops down and enters his combat stance.

-SMASHES: (forward) A quick upwards slash. Limited in range, but quick and launches a foe upwards if it connects.
(up) Devastating upwards wind-slash. The sword attack has very little range, but releases a low-damage wind wave upwards.
(down) "GadZap" A powerful orb of lightning engulfs Yuki, dispersing and sending nearby foes reeling. Great all-around reach, but take a moment to perform.

-SPECIALS: (inert) "Zap" Charge up and release a surge of electricity along the ground. Travels quickly and passes through foes, but dissipates if it hits air. Also won't damage an airborne foe.
(forward) "Storm Blade" Powerful winds surround Yuki's sword, and he unleashes a devastating combo on anyone in front of him, culminating in a powerful midair-slash. Damaging, but Yuki is vulnerable both before and during the attack.
(up) "Flying Cut" Yuki performs a front-flip. If he hits an enemy, he attacks and then reverses the flip. Decent for recovery, although if he attacks much of the recovered distance is lost.
(down) "Whirlwind" Swirling winds pulse outwards from Yuki, pushing foes back, for as long as the button is held. When it is releases, the winds reverse direction, dragging nearby enemies towards Yuki for a devastating spin attack.

-TAUNTS: 1-Dammit. I'm a pilot! I don't have time for this!
2-All right!
3-What's wrong? Can't keep up?

-VICTORY: He flips upwards and lands in the cockpit of his plane as it swoops by.

-FINAL SMASH: "Dragon Slash" The screen jumps a bit in front of Yuki and pans over to center on him. It does this twice more, zooming in closer both times; in the third, only Yuki's face is seen. The screen then returns to normal, and Yuki thrusts his sword in the air. "Dragon of light! Lend me your power!" He flips the sword and plunges it into the ground. "Draagooooooon Slaaaaaaaaash!" Large, complex patterns of light emerge from the ground, and anyone on or above Yuki's ground level will take damage; the closer they are to Yuki's level, the more damage they take. After a few seconds, everyone caught in the attack is launched based on where they are; foes on Yuki's level are almost guaranteeed to be KO'd.
