Well, what has happened here a lot in the past is that people will request something, we would do it, then the project gets scrapped...

If you cant at least think of an original idea to make a game about, then you should try another hobby.

Well, I am hell bent on finishing this project, and don't plan on scrapping the project. Do you think that everyone that requests something, ends up scrapping their project later on? D: Also, my idea is kind of original. The story is original, at least. I haven't seen anything with the story that I've been thinking up.

Just do what Prpl said: Placing the character's actual sprites into an XP template.

Not trying to sound like an ***, try most things you are bad at for yourself. Doing so gives you experience, and you should get the hang of it. I started off terrible, and I got better (Though I still kinda suck at times). Again, not trying to sound like a jerk, often I just speak like one innatly.

Honestly -- from what I've seen -- despite this being the Requests forum, most requests go unfulfilled. There really aren't a lot of people willing to do custom sprites, so the best advice I can give you is, first, to make the game for RPG Maker 2003. RM2K3 has a lot more resources available and is generally the preferred program. Go to Charas' Completed Resources section and search through the battle charsets and walking charsets to find something that's similar to what you want. Open up Idraw3 with the file, paste a picture of the character you're trying to do into an empty space (You may need to copy it from MS Paint first...Idraw3 can be kind of funny), and right click the colors on the picture to figure out which you'll need for your charset. You may need to modify the colors in the pallette, since only a limited set of colors can be used. Then, just...do your best is all I can say.

EDIT: Actually, pasting the official images into the RMXP template sounds a lot easier.

:( I was just asking for some help... not to be lectured. It's not like I can make an entire game all by myself. :( This is why I never request anything...

It's OK, man. To Red Giant, I would like to say that you were never obligated to help Mr. NT, and it is ruled in this forum for replies to posts to be satisfactions of requests. You needn't ruin this opportunity for interested members, as he was not making so rude a demand. You, The Neverending Twilight, however, need to make a more specific request. What characters will be featured in your game?

Im all over making custom sprites, but i have to
A  Be fully convinced that the project is something id like to have my name attached to
B  See an actual set of design docs and character bios that aren't shitty
C  Know that the project is dealing with 100% original content.

For there only being three points of criteria, i really dont ever find anyone that both needs my help and meets my criteria.
I would more then love to collaborate with somebody on a game with some potential, but most people either ditch the idea,
want to use a cookie cutter system of conflict, or over-think things.

In this case, I strongly recommend trying the sprites yourself, and then posting the progress, to get some constructive critique and pointers.

Another thing i've noticed, is that with the exception of lonewolf, nobody ever fills requests like this without seeing a project thread with screens.

If you are really that serious about making a crossover indepandant fangame (which not many people will want to play) then show the effort you've put into it. Let people know youre serious.

Saying "get off my back, can you help me or not" isn't going to make people take the project seriously.

The big reason why fangames dont fly well, is because they are usually made by people who dont actually have a stake in the franchises.
Would you feel overtly compelled to play a Disney meets Square game that wasn't produced or endorsed in some way by disney or square? Probably not unless a friend of yourse made it. Amateur gamers tend to overlook smaller franchise details, or take frivilous liberties with already eastablished characters, which makes the product, finished or not, generally convoluted and boringly unoriginal.

Show us some screens or concept at least.

If you want, I make base templates here and there....you can use those to practice on. Or I would recommend playing around with the charset bases in the generator.

If you are looking for some good pixel art tutorials i suggest hitting up pixeljoint.
I also suggest showing that you have put at least 1/10th of the effort you claim to be putting into it.

If you finish this, i will applaud you for your efforts. I apologize if i sound harsh or frank about your request.
I would rather teach you to fish then throw a trout at you.

Twilight- people are more likely to help if you tell them what you're planning.
First off, what kind of sprites do you need?
What's the visual style you're using?
What kind of story are you planning?
And what kind of battle system?

there are templates for XP. You don't have to draw the bodies, you can just draw on the hair and clothes. Or even use a generator. We don't have one here, but there are some/ . . . .  somewhere.

The two missing parts here are these:

1.

You never said what characters you wanted.

2.

You want to make them in XP style. People don't tend to do Xp sprites because they take too damn long to make.
If you find a GBA game or such(like ultimate jump star for the DS) then you cna find tons of your favourite anime and video game characters. Just find a sheet.
Copy paste them into a charset template. And you're done.

Oh, I was planning to mention the characters, but it seemed that people were just trying to bite my head off over requesting something, since I'm still new on this site. Well... I already have some characters who I plan to feature in my game, like Sonic, Cloud, Sephiroth, Ichigo, Sora, Crono, Kirby, and a couple others.

The characters I cannot find, are characters from Silent Hill (yeah, I'm gonna have a SH themed world). The monsters, like Pyramid Head, demon nurse, and a few other creatures.
I also need some Resident Evil characters, like Wesker.
I found a pretty good Mario sprite before, and I manage to keep losing it, somehow... lol

Great... now I feel like I'm being a bit of a pain... x_x

Let's see.

Playstation games= no sprites.

Mario stuff. You can find those anywhere.

I bet you could make wesker and those in the charset generator if everything else fails.
Otherwise just put someone in a suit and add glasses.

Really. RPGM XP just breaks my balls when it comes to the sprites.
