Look's nice. I love ho these come out looking just a little bit anime, but not overly cartoonish. Makes me think back to FF8. Man I miss that game.

Sai looks excellent. Actually, they all do. Instantly recognizable and very cool posing style.

dam purple... these are really amazing. although that bit from val's looks awesome too... if it ever got finished, although it doesn't look like colors RM2k can handle.

crap, and I was all proud of my sprites in my game....
if I were to use this template or something like it, do you think there would be room for full wings?
I have a certain cursed avian character in my game.

or just have a naked man running whenever he attacks... that would be a cool game.

Rpgm2k3 can handle these colours, it's barely more than a charset have.
Just make the battlechar in a clean file and save it with irfanview to decrease the colour depth to 256 though. Makes it limit it beside the colours used unlike MS paint.

And the template is done as a battlechar, but they can just as well be used as battleanimation-battlers.
A battlechar is 3 poses of 48x48 pixels.
A battleanimation-battler is 1-25 poses of 96x96.
So using battleanimations as battlechars allow you more space and smoothness.

If you mix and mactch using slightly bright colors instead of realistic ones you can make okay battlers.

yeag, that's true I don't know why I didn't think of that.
I'll have to work on the wings though anyways.
I don't like the three frames representing wings flapping, it just looks like she's floating while her wings move.
smoothness will definitely help

but uh,
what is irfanview?

I think I might still have iDraw, doesn't that do the same thing when you save to 256 colors?

Idraw3 won't even open a file unless it's in 256 color mode.

Idraw3 don't take crap from nobody.

Irfanview is a simple free software.
I found it like 3 years back, still works for me.

It can change size, turn the pic, flip it, decrease the colour depth, greyscale, invert colours, enhance colours, oil/water paint effects and so on.
The basic, not as much as photoshop but it works for my needs.

I only use paint to make the stuff. Then I use irfanbview to reduce saturation and colour depth.

I'd like to see this Infranview. It's sounds pretty useful. Aslo I used to use a trick to Idraw to load stuff without it being 256 colors. I'd copy stuff in MS pain then paste it in Idraw. It works about half the time. I just wish paint had that good of a zoom tool.

That works, but Idraw3 will just approximate the colors on the object you pasted with the colors in the palette you have loaded. And sometimes it makes wonky decisions, like turning a brown into purple, just because the purple it has available is slightly more similar in tone than any of the browns available.
