Pretty good. You need to add a little vibrato to your leads to keep the feedback down, it sounds a little scratchy sometimes. One bar of your tapping (was it?) is off-key. Those are my only criticisms. Everything else is good. I really like the section starting at 1:16, especially that keyboard melody.

Would you mind if I asked how you did your drums?

MINOR BUMP

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this, I forgot I had posted it.
Thank you for your praise/criticisms, both are equally appreciated.

I did everything but the guitars in GarageBand. (Don't worry, I didn't use loops or samples. Assembled everything myself.)

Also, about the scratchy feedback thing. I didn't have any kind of input cable for recording, so all the guitars were recorded by just putting my amp near the computer's built-in microphone, and playing. Once I get my guitar fixed, I'll probably get a cable for recording. They're only 7 dollars.

Direct Input is usually better provided you can fiddle with the settings and make the guitar sound how you want it to. Computer microphones are godawful.

I really need to find something that works for drums.

Rather than starting a new topic.

Call of the Whaleman

Still working on this. So, if you have any criticisms. ...You know.

Too digital. Like ones and zeroes.

Yeah, I need to make references to more well-known things. It's nice, but it does have too much of a midi-quality sound on what I assume is supposed to be an orchestra. It's also a tad repetitive, and there's a bit too much focus on the piano for my tastes. It's great for adding a sense of tension and emotion, but it needs more work from the rest of the rock instruments to be truly great. I'm more-or-less saying that it needs a guitar solo and a less ringy (fake words ftw) orchestra.

Someone needs to work on vocal parts for these songs, though. Even a little bit of vocals can help these songs out a bunch.

Eh... I'm a little against random singing in music. Though a kind of choir thing could work. That'd be epic.

Thinking about it, it's pretty good, but needs more instruments. And maybe some choir. Heck, I think it'd be appropriate for this kind of song.

Edit: Some male choir "Aaaaah" comes in later I see now. Maybe something of a more female vocal though in places.

I don't mean random singing, I meant perhaps something to emphasize the mood. A story of some sort would rule.

Huh? Now your wanting him to generate a story for a rather wildcard (meaning it fits several occasions) song?

There's not much to read. Quite a bit of sarcasm. XD But I do agree that it needs some vocals and other instruments to be more orchestral. Otherwise, as a sound critic I do feel engaged by this piece, I get a definate feeling and situational image. But it feels a bit empty in places where a female choir and another instrument or two would serve to make it more distinctive. And thus more epic.
