I prefer non-singing and favor the heart of the song more, than a few words spread about. Don't get me wrong though, there are some good ones and I'm not really biased. But I've seen what random lyrics can do to a song.

Uberpwn's Music [Puppy Journey to the South - 30 August 2009]

Puppy Journey to the South

So uh. Yesterday I had a couple of friends over. A guitarist and a bassist. We jammed for a bit. And we ended up recording this.

I'm not even gonna be modest here, it's pretty win.

It's a rough-ish demo, and it's about one third of the song. Enjoy. And of course, praise and criticism are encouraged.

Yeah, lots of win in here. I don't think it really needs lyrics, but more length leads to more awesome.

Hint hint.

So yeah. It's gonna be longer. We have other parts written, they just haven't been recorded yet.

Untitled (Demo)

Very rough demo, and just a tiny, tiny part of the song. My part actually isn't in this recording, but it's still my band, so it counts.

Enjoy, and, as always, praise/criticism appreciated.

Rough as all hell, yes, but it's mighty awesome. I love you to death for this stuff.

Ale's Song (Base)
So, this is a base* I created for a song I wrote. Title is temporary, obviously.

*Base meaning entirely played by virtual instruments. This is so that when we do studio recordings (everybody recording on seperate tracks, one at a time), everybody has the guidance of every other part. Without a base, a rhythm guitarist may have to record without a drum track to follow, or a lead guitarist without a rhythm guitar track to follow, etc.

Aside from being the first base like this I have done, this has also been an experiment with using GarageBand as a medium for writing music. I'd say it worked out pretty well. Two birds with one stone!

As usual, praise/criticism appreciated.

EDIT: Also, I updated the front page.

Really dig it. Can't wait to hear the final version. Honestly, this is the best thing you've shared with us thus far.

The lead guitar about 1/3 of the way in is a little boring, though. "Ascend, descend, repeat" is not a good thing. Don't know the time, since I'm listening out of the Box player.

The drum solo sounds like it will be sweet as hell.

Ale's Song (Demo 1)
Used the virtual drums and bass from the base, and recorded real guitar parts.

It's got a few additions and subtractions. A couple of solos. Enjoy.

Praise, criticism, you know the drill.

I liked it.  Not what I usually listen to, but it sounded pretty awesome to me.  The drums at the beginning were a little weird, but it quickly was... not?  I don't know what I was trying to say.  Oh hum.  Good job.

Drum fill during the transition near the end felt a little unnatural... but other than that I like it. The one riff in the beginning reminds me of Dream Theater.

Very awesome, by the way.
