I can't imagine how that would work, Grandy. Somehow, getting a phone call where the man on the line says "We've kidnapped you. Give us cash for your safe return" doesn't sound like it would work here...

It was rather. "Are you Grandy's mom?" "Yes." "Is he home?" "No." "THAT BECAUSE WE KIDNAPPED HIM! MWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" then I arrive at home and am like "Hi mom." and she's like "You alive?" and I'm like, "Yea, why not?"

 Also, in my head the kidnapper sounds like Overlord Larharl.

That's hilarious fun.

And the fact that your parents refused to pony up a dime for your life is something you need to hold over their heads for the rest of your young life. It's especially important to bring it up at family gatherings.
