I don't believe that genes set your destiny or how you are as a person.
Sure. Some behaviour might carry on, like stubbornness or such. But I refuse to believe that there are such things as "killer genes" , "nazi genes" or something.
It just sounds wrong. DNA and stuff made us into the things we are. But I doubt it made how we're going to be.

And I still don't believe those twin-experiments. I still haven't read any scientific report on it. Just heard teachers and people talk about it.
And if they are so close. I blamethat the families are too similar

I've also read about how much twins can be different depending on how they're raised. :P

And even if twins are very similar, that doesn't mean there are specific genes for liking Ozzy or whatever. It's just that an exactly same DNA pattern determines a similar person. I don't think you can isolate them to one chromosome or anything like that, because DNA is very delicate.

I don't see why you guys are laughing so much about it... It's a valid argument that we're born to have certain personality traits. You're certainly born gay or straight, so I don't know what you find so ridiculous about that. And in certain places you certainly are programmed to believe in god. You're told it's the truth from an early age and everyone around you, even your teachers feed it to you. That's not ridiculous, it's the sad truth.

I don't even have the same accent.
Accent is entirely to do with who you listen to so if you've been around people with a certain accent a lot you'll start to use it... This affects some people more than others. That point isn't really anything, man.

Are you being sarcastic, looking at the fact that we argue so much about it?

Autism's real. Only, not the "He's awkward around people so he's autist" kind., the "He never answers when we talk to him and keeps spinning his head back and forth." kind.

What does this mean? You do know that syndromes are only defined by perceptions of people; symptoms, in contrast to a disease?

I mean there was this autist kid in my class who kept making weird sounds with his mouth, didn't respond to almost any stimulus like calling his name (unless you yelled at his ear), and sometimes would let out a ear-breaking yell for the sake of it. He was the tallest and strongest of us all, yet he believed against all evidence that he was the shorter and the weakest of us all, to the point of denying results of a tape. He also was paranoid and thought everyone was out trying to get him. If we laughed at a joke, he'd yell at us (and once he banged a calssmate's head to the stone wall) because he was sure we were laughing at him. He also had the tendency of rocking back and forth in his chair.

He was, undoubtfully, autist, whereas people like me who dislike crowded places and tend to be quiet, are not autists.
