Saved image is Garbled
« on: May 29, 2009, 01:56:54 AM »
Whenever I try to save the image/sprite sheet, it is all garbled...

Like, I'm trying to make a similar facsimilie to Red Riding Hood, and when I make it and save it, it looks all fine... then when I open it on my PC, it looks like THIS!

What's wrong?

Try saving it as the different file types available.  Are you saving as png?

And as the JPEG. both end up the same. I use Firefox as my browser, and have Microsoft Picture and Fax Viewer as my Photo viewing app. Do I need anything special?

Also, I tried PrintScreening it, and that worked, but I can't get it to work with RPG Maker XP....

I believe XP uses a different layout for their charsets, so 2k3 charsets won't work
Not too positive on this though, as my specialty is Game Maker, not RPGM

Use the "print screen",it's a button on your computer, and then paste it to ms paint or some other program. It's what I do when I use the generator

You have to convert the printscreen capture to a 288x256 image with an 8 bit-depth (256 colors).

Doesn't it it work to right click and chose "copy" and then paste it into paint?

I had that issue for a little while. But it would only do that in Paint. In IDraw it was fine, so I just used that to edit stuff. If you don't have that get it. But is it showing up that way in whatever Maker you are using? When I imported ones that were screwed up in RM2K and 3k they worked fine.

Its better to use prnt screen and then have paint.net, because its saves are compatable with all forms of RPG Maker VX,XP,2k,2k3 i dont care which you choose but their all compatable, their just a pain to use.......
