Chipset Problem
« on: June 26, 2009, 08:25:53 PM »
I've been working on a game of mine for a few years and I got stuck at one point because I needed a ship chipset. I wanted to use something other than the RTP and FF style. Anyway, I tried using a chipset from the resource section and the lower layer is overlapped by the upper layers. Only the second layer would show up when I went to test play. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Your upper layer background probably isn't transparent. Open it up in Idraw3 and fill the background in with the first color on the upper left of your pallette.

If you can't do this, post it, and I'll do it for you.

I think I've tried what Valiere said but it didn't fix the problem, only used Paint though so maybe that's why. Anyway, here's the link to the chipset I wanted to use http://charas-project.net/resources_download.php?id=3954&file=resources%2FChipsets%2F3816_1067740744.png

Well Sandman, I just tried this chipset out, and it seems totally fine to me. Are you sure you set the background as the transparent color when you imported?

idk who Sandman is >_>; I don't know how it's working right away for you since I'm having problems with it, but the first layer is getting covered up by the second layer still. Paint doesn't let me change tranparency so maybe that's the problem? I don't have Idraw3, only use Paint.

When you import it, you need to click the blue-ish color in the window that lets you zoom in and stuff right after you import the file.  It should then flash.  That should fix your problem.

Wow, I feel so dumb. Can't believe that fixed it, never had to click on that before. I only managed to change the brightness through Paint. Thanks a ton, A Forgotten Legend  :bend:

You should do that with all resources you import. ;)
