Are bears naturally violent? There are way more cases of bear attacks documented, then bear picnics.
I will have to say yes.

This thread is a convoluted attempt at upping your post count.

But there are way more cases of human attacks than bears!

And way more humans than bears.

I wonder if the bear attack/human attack ratios are proportionate?

No bears caused genocides.
No bears made mass murders.
No bears participated in wars involving millions of people.
No bears caused an animal race to disappear.

And there are no Teddy Humans.

Teddy Roosevelt was not a Teddy Human. No such thing exists.

Get your facts straight.

She said "Teddy human", not "Teddy Human". Whereas one implies what it sounds like, the other suggests a human classified as "Teddy".

Get your facts straight.

No bears are sentient beings either. I honestly attribute violence to sentience, rather then "Human nature"
Theres no grounds for comparison here, because there exists no other sentient creatures for us to compare ourselves to.

Ergo, we could be the most peacefull of all sentient beings.

Ants wage war in which thousands of ants can die. War is something that belongs to living organisms, so is violence. Some have a worse case then others, but as long as there are living organisms, there will be a war of some sort. Sure, bears don't wage war in which millions of bears are involved, but that's because they can't. But if there was a group of a million bears and they entered the territory of a different group of a million bears, then there would be a bear war.

Lurk more on Animal Planet.

Violence in living organisms is due to our overwhelming survival instincts and instincts of greed. Not every man in every army naturally violent and agrees with every war they are in. Wars are made by few men with larger ambition in which if they had to risk thier own life would rather not have had war in the first place. Many and most people who go to war do so because these few men persuade them into joining thier army, and when its comes time to fight and alot of these people don't wish to fight they must because they fear for thier own lives and the lives of thier families, do to the fact they swore fealty to a few men whos ambitions outway thier care of the preservation of human life. We are not like most animals because most animals aren't intelligent enough to peruade millions and millions of other animals that they are better than those animals, that thier lives are worth more, and that they have no choice but to join the cause because of the piece of dirt they live on.

Ants weren't involved. We were talking about bears! And so far, there never was any bear wars!
Maybe some animals do have wars, though, but they still haven't bring another species to the point of extinction. They still haven't committed genocide, or mass murder for no particular reason.
No animals will murder simply for fun or because they had a bad day.
Humans will. Well, not all, but some.

However, it is true that we can't really compare humans to animals. There are way too many differences between them and us.

How exactly do you define sentience?
