Um...No. I wasn't even thinking about that I just wanted to see what other people's responses would be if humans are naturally violent or they are just influenced by certain surroundings.

Hey, I just remembered a question that might be interesting to share. Do you think humans are naturally violent? I mean think about it. There have have been more historic recordings of violence and wars instead of peace.

I'm not sure what this means exactly. Aren't instances of violence and war more likely to be recorded than just saying, "Well, nothing's really going on right now"? Or do you mean, historically, societies are more often in a state of war than peace?

I don't like to chalk anything up to nature, because that reeks of justification and rationalization to me. Just like criminals who blame the fact that they murdered somebody on their tumultuous childhood or whatnot. Childhood abuse and neglect can be a contributing factor, but they still made the conscious decision to kill.

To those who argue that the violent tendencies of our closest living ancestors, the chimpanzees, indicate that we're also violent at our core, I point to the relatively peaceful bonobos, who are every bit as close to us genetically. It's not that there are no violent bonobos, it's that the "dominant" female bonobos do not tolerate violence and stand as a united front against it. Yes, and bonobos also have sex like crazy and use sexual favors to resolve disputes. Take from that what you will.

Most wars have been fought in the name of religion. Does this make religion evil? (oh yes I did =D)

Personally, and most people know it, I'm not a big fan of religion. But war isn't only to blame on religion, it's to blame on differences. And if your god tells you other gods are fake, then you have a big difference.

Also, religion is not exactly the reason for most wars but a cover, the real reason for most wars, the truest reason is these factors: Power, fortune, and dominion. This was often under the cover of the MASK of religion.

Ultimately, these three are the biggest reasons. Fact.

But this too, has ultimately no bearing on such a shallow topic as this. Let us leave atheism and religion out of this, it's as said, an excuse more than a reason.
