Random Little RPG Engine Project
« on: August 06, 2009, 01:28:06 AM »
I decided I'd try and make an RPG engine, for Myrdia, or other projects, and this is the result.
Here's the download link, as it's name implies, it is very much a prototype, so expect a few glitches.

=Features=
Implemented
  • Experimental battle engine, doesn't have enemy fighting back yet
  • Very very good enemy pathfinding
  • Grid Based movement
Planned
  • Diablo-esque inventory system
  • Enemy patrolling
  • S.I.S.C. stat implementation
  • Ranged stunning
  • Animations
  • Some better magic system, with spells and such

=Release?=
This engine might be released to the public later on, but no promises, cause it's as of now an experiment.

Done editing.
Updates will happen as I damn well please.

Downloading now, I'll test it out in the morning. I'll be sure to post again soon.

I kinda wanted to make my own game engine as well, but without any knowledge of programming whatsoever....  kinda hard.  I will check yours out.

Can you import resources?

It is made in Game Maker, and when I release it, I'll be releasing the GMK, so of course.

EDIT: I am having major issues with the patrolling, so that feature might be cut out.

Small, small update.
Has smoother movement, animation (kinda) and 2k3 styled graphics, made by Valiere.

EDIT: Changes mostly cosmetic. I'm still waiting on inventory sprites from Lucas before I jump on that, as the system is omfg complicated.

Looks cool so far. I applaud any successful use of gamemaker :p
