Problems Getting A Song To Play
« on: August 25, 2009, 09:42:14 PM »
Alright, so here's the deal, I recently re-downloaded RPG Maker 2K3 again, because of the much snazzier side view battles, and on my latest project, I wanted somthing very fast and action packed, so my soundtrack includes fast techno-y songs.

One of these songs, is from a Game Boy Color game called; Power Quest, the actual name of the song is, 'This House', which will be used in my game to play as you browse through the inventory of a shop.

I uploaded it, but when I click it to play, a screen flashes that says, 'Not Implemented', and flickers at rapid speeds, making a constant sound, like the thud of a bell that wont echo into a gonging sound, and the only way to get it to stop, it to click the 'X' button on the top right of the window, about 15 times quickly, then just wait untill it stops spazzing.

Is there a way to fix that? Or am I doomed without this song?

P.S: I'd send it to you guys, so maybe you could look at it or somthing, but I don't know how

Sounds like an incompatibility issue with RM2K3 and the song you're trying to play. I assume it's a valid format, such as .midi? Also, you've tried playing the song with a normal player, and had no problems right?

If your answer to these questions are yes, it sounds like more of a sound format issue, and you'd likely have to take it up with a .midi expert instead of an RM2K3 expert. Maybe try opening it with Anvil Studios or some other free .midi maker and then re-saving it.
