I don't know if that's it, but at least it's advice.

I once had a broken fan that led to an overheat after a few minutes. It might be that.

I'm not really sure that either of these are the source of your problem

Laptop, buds.
And I'm almost positive it's a worm now.
Just one that is really really good at hiding.
Cause the effects are almost identical to a timed forkbomb.

Laptops have fans and overheating, too.

But again, I'm just saying this for shits and giggles.

Laptops can be MORE prone to overheating since a lot of them have their fans on the bottom. If placed on a soft surface like a pillow or other cloth, there is no places at all for the air to escape and it builds up the temperature quickly. Luckily most laptops will auto-kill their power now before the heat reaches melt-stuff levels, but it can still do damage. I'm convinced I lost my first laptop because of this.

My laptop almost never overheats, and I was mainly talking to Mr. Kicks there.
I think it's overheated like twice?
Because it was summer in Illinois?

Oooo if it's a laptop and not a worm then you're SOL.  I've had a problem in this scenario, too.  (wtf everything happens to me D:)

If it is a worm, eat it...  You won't do it!  No balls!

Illinois? Thats in the US, right? And the US is in North America, right? I dont see how anything could overheat over there. Even during summer.
I mean, my dad's laptop never overheated. And summer in brazil is like, ten times warmer than your summer. xD
Oh dear god summers in Illinois are hell.
Humid as all **** (I think the humidity peaked at around %80, but don't trust me on that)
And the summer that I was there was around 110 degrees F, which is ****ing hot for what I'm used to (hottest summers over here get is around 98) (for you that's 43.3 ad infinitum C).
More than enough for a massive overheat.

And summers in the US can be more than enough for an overheat, unless you're in:
1: The Great Northwest (Where I reside, and unless you're in eastern WA, cause I believe that's actually a desert)
2: The Northeast
3: ****ing Alaska

Nah, mine can still overheat in the summer if I am not careful. Up in ye ol' Northeast.
