The Baptist Church apparently got bored and decided to hate Lady Gaga for no real reason so they took her most famous song and spoofed it saying God Hates Her and make signs to protest her concert that is tonight.
Because apparently they think Lady Gaga's songs and fashion teaches rebellion against God and claim that God hates her.

Translation: They have nothing better to do and decided to flaunt how stupid they are.

Err...doe these guy even read their own Bible?  I'm pretty sure most people know what John 3:16 says about God's opinion of the world.

Exactly right Musha.

Yeah, I don't know where these brothers and sisters are getting their ideas from. They are definitely no thinking "what would Jesus do?" while going through all of this. They're definitely not doing this on a biblical agenda.

Instead of spreading words of love, hope and faith, they speak of hate. I do hope something is done about this on a ministrant level. These people aren't only making a fool of themselves but of those they declare the hate to. Which is in fact all of us, according to that one song.

I am calling puppets on this one; from something more sinister. It is totally unethical, and unpractical within the scriptures to do what they are doing. Their vision has been twisted and in a way adulterated, and I am afraid if they do not change that way of being, we'll hear something drastic about them in the news.

You're right! I get on with Christians just fine so long as they accept that they can't change me or my beliefs and that burning at the stake is illegal over here now...
But the particular Christians in question in this thread sound strangely un-Christian... I could swear I can remember more of the Bible than some Christians. They're probably just jealous that her concert has more people going than their branch of the house of god.

It's odd that they chose Lady Gaga to target, since her songs don't mention God or really anything other than trashy romance. They could have easily targeted any number of openly atheist bands but instead went for another Britney/Madonna clone. And I think you know why: all these poor dears want is a little attention.

Damn extremists, they are NOT real Christians. Just like those fire and brimstone jackasses. One of a few things that I really get tired of. People who must use their beliefs to press on others (fire and brimstone), and people who constantly put another belief down. Pressing one's unbelief or belief is the same thing IMO and should be smacked around with a baseball bat for it.

This hate crap is utter bogus, who gives them the right to claim who God hates really? Are they THAT bored with their lives? They want publicity most likely, a pathetic plea for attention and shouldn't be taken seriously.

This is so true, and I agree fully, this is the kind of stuff that helps nobody and does no good at all. Actually, it may as well be downright evil. Possibility is, they actually know EXACTLY what they are saying. And probability is, they don't care. But there is no doubt that they are making total idiots of themselves and delivering a very un-Christian representation of themselves.

I'm sorry, all I could think of when I saw "fire and brimstone" was THIS. Just the first 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

I believe something related to the whole "target a pop star" thing happened recently (as fas as I can tell, some time in October) because some people (not sure who) thought that Rihanna's new song was satanic due to the line (this was all that was released at the time) "The wait is over".

They might also be targeting Gaga because there's been rumors (and pictures) floating around that she's really a hermaphrodite.

EDIT: Besides, it's Westboro, those guys are insane anyways.

You can replace "Christians" with nearly any religion, and it's still accurate.

People do this all time.

But Christianity is about forgiving and love. That's what jesus said. When you start to hate - you've found your place in hell. Lord Jeysis pretty obviously stated that evil is not in our actions but rather in the way we think. And well; hate is evil inside your head.

Also there are other kinds of "churches" out there doing things like this. I remember some american church demanding war on us over here in Sweden since we allowed homosexuals to marry. Saying that we assist the devil in defying the lord's word or someshit.

Religion isn't actually the subject at hand here as much as protesters in general

This is the only answer that can ever be given
