It's me. Today, I put a can of Sprite in my backpack and it got a hole in it and went all over my bag. About 3 hours later the second one I grabbed, this time in my purse, got a hole punched in it and leaked all through my purse. On my camera, iPod, and Gameboy, mind you. Haha I'm just wrought with bad luck.
Oh man, I did something like that a while ago. The difference is that A) The leak was so small that I wasn't aware until far too late, and B) I forgot about the soda even being there until about a week later. I was alerted to the issue when I began to smell something foul and somewhat ginger-y. Sure enough, my books were ruined, molding, and moist, and a can of Canada Dry was sitting under them, about half empty (or half full, if you can somehow still be an optimist after this mishap). Wasn't much fun, and I was suddenly unable to finish reading Needful Things. Hooray, moldy odor.

Dude, Archem, are you life shadowing me? I did the same thing with Canada Dry last year. Also I have that book and haven't finished reading it either.

Similar thing happened to me once. Except it was a sandwich bag from elementary school forgotten in an old backpack :-/. I will never, ever forget the odour.

You look like my grandmother.
edit: when she was young. You don't look like you're 80.

Creepy. I have a question: Are you my female doppleganger? Because that would be mighty awesome.

ALL CURSING ALL THE TIME.  My CD player was half-submerged in Pepsi in 10th grade for some reason.  I guess the top came unscrewed in my bag.  Anyway, I put it in my garbage can, let stand 1 week, and Voila! dry innards again.

Someone must be cursing me.  I keep hearing praise for vampires and commercials of the so-called Twatlight sagebrush.

Ughhh, leaving food in old backpacks is the worst!

Since we're on the subject of odors that we will never forget...When I was 12, I got suckered into buying one of those "sea monkey" kits. It was pretty cool until the tank started getting filthy, like rank, green, and so cloudy I could barely see my little shrimp pals. Since there were like a billion of them and they were too tiny to transplant into some other water, I had to dump them down the bathroom drain. Big mistake. The smell never went away.

I accidentally left a banana in my backpack once.

Oddly enough, it didn't smell bad.
Even after like...2 months.

It smelled kinda sugary.

Bananas don't really spoil that offensively. They just turn black and shriveled.

Have any of you ever smelled burning plastic? Once I left a plastic ladle on the burner by accident and it's a weird smell- sharp and painful and it makes you want to throw up, but in a stinging way. It's another smell you can never forget. Even thinking about it makes me smell it.

I've had melted plastic drip onto my finger once. That is a feeling you never forget.

Yes, I've smelled that before. Though it's not a pleasant odour, it isn't all that bad. Any of you ever smelled a corpse that's been there for a few days? There was this truck in the parking which was there for a few days until a corpse was found inside. Of course, the word "corpse" makes everyone curious, including me. When they took the corpse out of the van, a foul odour followed. We were far away (policemen didn't want us to come closer >:( ) and we could smell how terrible it was. But I can't imagine how it was for those who were next to it.

To freak people out in elementary school, I used to hot glue my fingers together.

I actually didn't think it hurt, freaked the teachers right the hell out though.
