Drenrin's Sprites
« on: June 23, 2010, 07:17:56 PM »
So I've worked with rm2k3 for a long time and haven't done much of my own graphical art. Only edits of graphics available. This is a gallery of some of the things I've been trying to work on. It's all been blown up from original size. And none of it is really finished.

ORIGINAL WORK

I modeled her after a ff6 sprite of what I believe was Celes in a white dress.

I did use a template for this guy. I'm not too fond of his hair.

I like this little guy, the facesets aren't anything spectacular and his walking pose needs work.

It's a tent.

EDITS
Anything from here on are just edits I thought might be interesting.

^ Original  by some guy calling himself Salmon^

^ Finished Edit^

I like the girl. If you finish that up, I'd like to use her as an important character in my game.

The guy looks like a template, with a bit of a lack of colour depth.

The other guy looks cool, like an old Apogee side scroller. That's a totally in the ether reference too.

Thanks! I made the simple guy for a possible experimental side scroller. I tried to keep it simple as it was my first real attempt at spriting.

Here's more of the girl. I don't have much time lately, so there's not much more. I like how the front walking pose came out, but I'm not too sure on the side. The dress and the hair are really tough.

DONE! It took me a little longer then I would have hoped, but it's a fully animated sprite!

AND a preview of what I'm planning to work on next. =D

Thanks MT. I made it first because I figured it would be an easy thing to start spriting. The actual poses are a little tough though, being restricted to so few pixels with such complex movement.

But geez, I haven't seen you in ages. 0_o What have you been doing?

It looks nice to me.  I'm not a fan of that kind of face, but it looks like it supposed to.

Thanks AFL. I kind of agree with you on the faces. At least personally, I think they're too wide. So I changed it up a little bit. Not a huge difference, but enough where I think it looks noticeably better.

That helped alot actually.  The biggest thing for me is that it looks like their mouth and neck are one. o.O  I like the head width change though.

Thanks, I kind of agree with you on the neck thing, maybe it's just me but I don't see it as that big of deal.

More complete sprites! I'm mainly curious about the mech guy. It's just a recolor of a ff6 magitek armor sprite. I wanted to make one from scratch, but that would've been a little too tough for me.

I have a set that I pieced together to use in AoA. You're more than welcome to use it if you'd like.

Something better. They're suppose to be a quaint, space traveling lizard/dragon/intelligent species that prefers  to live peacefully with the aid of magic.

So yeah. On the left are the females, on the right are the males. The silver dude is a possible king of sorts.
