Fairly certain I've already shared this, but I've recently been listening to Orgy again. ****ing love this band and this song. Most sci-fi music ever.

I'm not really a fan of super long vocal songs.  Like 7 to 12 minute songs is ridiculous.  Metallica does that and I'm always like, "holy crap, this song needs to end now."  I get it, your guitar parts sound cool, but damn, end the song.  That's just my opinion though.

I'm absolutely on the other end. A long song must be well constructed throughout, and it's more than just a song; it's an experience, and I don't want it to end. Three minutes just isn't enough to get the full effect of a truly well-written piece. A lot of bands that I listen to write concept albums, so the music is a stage for a story to unfold. If you rush that into a few short tracks, the idea never really gets to be delivered the way it deserves.

Simply put, I'm really entranced by the music, and it's about the journey, not the destination. Simply finishing the song isn't what I want.
