Anyone else think Saw should be banned?

I just watched Saw 6. It opened with a woman screaming in agony and having to cut her arm off with a hatchet
in order to stop a drill from penetrating her skull and killing her.

At one scene, there was an old woman with a family with razorwire round her neck which was ripping her throat apart.

There was also a scene where a woman who was pregnant got a door slammed into her womb which resulted in a miscarriage.

The sequence of events was justified because the people didn't "value life" or hasn't been valued themselves. Seriously. What the
****? I hope whoever created this movie actually gets shot and dies. It's a ****ing disgrace. I actually feel sick. The acting was appauling,
the plot was terrible, and it was just morbidly disgusting and horrific. how can anybody gain any enjoyment from watching that?

I'm all for violence and vigilanteism. Heck, Dexter is my favourite show on TV, but watching innocent people tied up being mutilated and dying
horrific, slow, agonising deaths is just putrid. Seriously. What's the appeal?

I remember liking the first one. But I never watched any of its sequels. I remember laughing when I heard a fourth one was coming out. Now there's six of 'em? Kind of scary considering all that means is they sell. Which means there's a market for "watching innocent people tied up being mutilated and dying horrific, slow, agonising deaths".

I agree with you, I don't see the fascination with horror movies that err on the side of scaring you by making you want to vomit.

The first one is very, very good. It's a thriller, and any gore isn't shown, just implied.
After that it was sold off to a completely different company for the plethora of torture porn sequels.

I've seen the first three, and have been told that 3 is the last good one.

Can't ban them. Damn rights. But yes, I do find the entire concept of getting thrills out of watching horrible tortures a really worrying thing.

I was worried that maybe I was just weird by not liking them. The guy who thinks them
up must actually be insane to some degree!

Hostel was really sick, too, but at least it had some form of thriller-ism in it. There was
an actual realistic chance of him getting away. It wasn't some sick game with a disgusting
death at the end.

I refuse to believe that Saw II through XXVII VI exist.  And Saw I wasn't good either.

I went to see Saw 3 one halloween. There was so much wrong with the movie, with the idea of the movie, and with the audience cheering it on. I don't understand how anyone could actually enjoy these films without being a very disturbed individual.
Not to mention it makes our laws really questionable. You can't depict explicit rape, but you can show graphic torture and murder in sometimes semi-erotic positions? In Saw 3 they had a young, naked woman hanging in a meat locker being tortured and killed...I'm sure there's some weirdo out there who was turned on by it- in fact, that seems to be the intent.
Yeah, I agree with Val- liking Saw is a deal-breaker. I'd always be wondering what kind of sick thoughts they were having.

I'm a strange bird here. I love the idea of elaborate torture, but I'm sickened by seeing it in action. Also, I'd prefer to keep miscarriage away from anything. What the fruck.
