As people said, go with whatever feels right for you.
But just don't get too much work over your head. People tend to plan the bestest of ideas and then never having the time to fulfil their dream.

"You are an 8,000 year old mystic, who is reincarnated every death. You're the 18th reincarnation of the royal line of 'True Mystics'. The Tournament has been going on for 5,000 years."

those numbers just sound... weird.

I"m gonna edit it to be higher. May sound weird, but it just means they grow to be an old age, and then are reincarnated with the previous people's powers as well as their own.

Wait wait so, your actually 3,000 years older than the tournaments. Would you be the oldest living/reincarnated (whatever) then or what?

You're the oldest living being. If that is what you mean.
1. They all will have a set age limit in the plot.  The age they all die is all the same for each reincarnation.
2. They all do something to cause some type of disaster on the planet, to kill off every living being, to make room for the next set of life. For example, there will be many bits of differing 'ancient societies' throughout the game. Each differing in term of age. This will be one main part of the game, to find out WHAT caused this great societies to fall so many years ago.
3. This last reincarnation turns on his 'gods' that created him, as in he decides to use the POWER that washes out existence, to make himself stronger, and to use the 'god' he was BORN under, to get stronger. The sign. Such as being born under the sign of the Dragon, Rat, horse, bull, and so on. Each reincarnation is born under a different god/sign. This is what keeps the reincarnation line in order. Defeat the Dragon, you stop the reincarnation line, because the line is broken.

To be honest, Thiamor, I'd try something a little less... ambitious? We've had countless members join and say they're making
a game with hundreds of characters and then just not expand on the game whatsoever. Without trying to be negative towards your
idea, I'm sure you came up with it rather quickly. People are more excited about seeing the actual gameplay, story and atmospheric elements. On top of
that, games with hundreds of characters usually have shallow stories and no character development. I say that you stay up late, listen to a
piece of inspirational music really loud through headphones, have a caffeine drink and scribble down all your best and most genius thoughts and
creations onto a piece of paper.

I'd be more interested to see a game about an Indian guy who rides a three-legged elephant through space and has to save
exotic species of plants from going extinct or something. I don't know. What I'm saying is to try something original that's not been
thought of before. Something that RPG Maker is capable of, but not too capable. Push yourself to your limits and try and create
something interesting and engaging. We all have it in us. We just have to find it.

Best of luck to you with whatever project you go forth with!

zuhane:Ummm.... that was more inspirational than Marten luther king and the pope stuck together.

Thiamor:I think the plots interesting and relatively simple. in a way... Ok,not so much. But its still good.

I have two games that I'm actually working on. This and a smaller, survival game. I do to at once, so it keeps my mind from freezing up.
The other os a Zombie Survival game called 'Zombie Apocalypse'. I am doing that, due to Zombie games are growing to be a bigger hit nowadays. The map is 2000x2000. Upgraded using a patch. Each level has more zombies, a boss and the boss from the previous level. You go, find an Idol. Click it, and go to the next level. It levels you up each time, rasing your HP and speed and gives you gold. The gold can be used to buy items in the safe house. You use 4 characters, but only for HP. The Zombies, when they touch you, takes off HP. It makes it last longer, with 4 sets of HP that it has to take off from.

Also, Zu, most people who do games like this, are not like me. Story wise for each character is cake for me. I'm a writer. I write stories.
Most of these people are kids, who have no experience in writing.

Most of which people, exactly? Charas is full of teenagers and up to be honest. Most people on here
are rather intellectual and well developed.

I didn't mean YOU all. I meant most who try to do so much at once, and all of it is big games, are mostly kids thinking it is easier than what it really is.
