Spider on computer screen vs. cursor
« on: February 25, 2011, 04:01:40 AM »
My first Youtube video ever!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyxQgoq_NpU

And the spider is STILL going after my cursor. Not the brightest animals, are they? Next I'm going to go to some page with a ton of animated gifs and watch it flip out.

My lizard does the same thing.
Definitely says something about the intelligence of bearded dragons.

That was pretty damn funny. All I could think of when you started switching windows was how confused the spider must be. BIRD!!!

At first I thought that was a Pseudo Scorpion. But then I saw it was one of those Jumping Spider.
I think they're actually quite intelligent for something that small. First, they can jump horizontally (sure, we, human, can do it to in a certain manner, but try jumping off a wall and land on that very same wall) and they're pretty much the only spider I've seen being able to run backward. Try approaching something toward any other kind of spiders and they'll just turn around and run away.

Also, cats, who are 1000 times larger (therefore, have larger brains) also try to catch cursor. And lasers, which also work with dogs. Quite funny to make them run all around the house trying to catch something they can't, yeah.

True, but I think to some extent cats know it's just "playtime." That spider was so sure that the 89th time it attacked the cursor, it just might yield some meat.
