I bought it and my laptop wouldn't run it.

Nobody's talking about TF2 any more.

Are you referring to TF2 or the first one?

What?! It really is. Just checked. Why is, in my opinion, the best and most deep FPS on the market
completely free? What are Valve doing?! I hope we don't get loads of morons joining our beloved servers.
This is insane!!

So you're saying that people who don't have enough money to pay for the game are morons?

Are they not?

At a guess I would say this is because TF2 isn't really that profitable any more. As I said, nobody's talking about it any more; a lot of the hardcore fanbase has either moved on to different games or left out of frustration at all the cash shop stuff. This is at worst an effort to get more people who might potentially buy cash shop stuff, and at best a nice gesture from Valve. Maybe it's both.

Speaking of cash shop, have you guys seen what's happening with EVE? Somebody leaked a newsletter in which CCP basically stated - they claim in exaggeration - that all future EVE expansions and future CCP games (including the World of Darkness MMO, which I am not happy about) will be full of pay-to-win cash shop items which give you an advantage over regular players. EVE players take the economics of EVE very seriously. Cue mass cancellation of subscriptions and enormous basement-dweller protest.

It's hilarious.

The future. What's it like? Do I grow a badass beard in the year 2021? How's TF3, by the way?

I personally think the cash shop is more than justifiable. When they brought out roughly 120 unprofitable free updates
to keep people happy, read community forum posts and constantly kept up with their customers' demands, it's only
fair that they finally made a scheme to finally reel in a little profit. You have to remember that just about everything
in the shop can still be obtained for free. It's just a quicker process if you buy it.

They now just released another huge update which is fantastic of them, like usual. They're always keeping fans happy, making
a brilliant game more brilliant. And the whole "morons" thing is something you'll understand if you play pub servers. There's
an influx of people on my local called stuff like "darkshadow123xx" who play nothing but Scout. Not sure if this whole "free" thing
was a good idea. It's gonna be a few weeks until servers calm down a bit and become playable again. It still baffles me how
this is free, whilst other games like CS and CoD cost money. It was already a bargain... now it's just... charity!

I'm all old-school, so I still prefer the old menus. Oh, how I miss them...

Old menus didn't work on my new computer. So I sent a cry for help to Steam. I receive response during vacation with complex solution. Come back from vacation, new menu, and I can play on this computer now. Yay.

When it first came out, the main menu was a in game shot of 2fort, I think. They removed it because it was bit of an eater of loading times. But back then, you could mod it so an actual game would be played with bots.
I wish I had.

Man, just like Half Life II.
The TF2 main menu's getting increasingly more and more HUDy.
