Rhyming With Charas
« on: July 27, 2011, 02:28:42 AM »
RULES O THE GAME

The goal of the game is to rhyme a word with the former posters chosen "rhyme word" which is indicated in bold/italics.

If you want to make it all complicated with points. Here's how points will work: if a whole page is completed without a break in the rhyme, everyone who posted on that page gets a point. Whenever a "chain o' rhymes" is broken, the last person in that chain gets a point. I guess, technically, the last person in a chain of rhymes gets two points if its at the end of the page and the whole page is the same rhyme.

You can't repeat rhymes in the same chain.

Any poster at any time can break a "rhyme chain". For instance, you might want to break a rhyme chain if you can't think of a word that hasn't been used in that rhyme chain, or if you want to be a dick and prevent a bunch of people from getting points. Just know, you'll be giving someone a point.

One word "rhyme chains" count. Example, I post a stupid word no one can rhyme with so someone puts a new word, I get a point.

Rule thanks to Lucas: the rhyming word needs to be in a sentence, and in bold or italics, but it can't doesn't have be the last word. That way, there'll be more rhymes and stuff to be done, instead of just rhyming the same word over and over.

ONE LAST COOL RULE: If you break a chain, just type somewhere in your post "BREAK" in bold or italics.

Make sense? Sound good? 'Nuff caramel on them apples for ya?

POINTS
1st Place: LUCAS   with   1 point

Roast.

What happens when we reach the limit of words that can rhyme with this?

Lowest.

Well, I guess it could be that if someone comes up with a word that the next poster doesn't think works, the person before that post gets a point, but the person to call out a wrong rhyme can't be the same one who gets the point.  So like this:

Person A: Beans
Person B: Left
Person C: That's not even close, are you mentally ill?  New Word: Dim (Player A + 1 point)

EDIT: Dammit it Archem.  We came up with the same word too.  Uh, almost.

QUESTION: Would a word that contains a previously used word count?  "Compost" rhymes but "post" has already been said.
(and if it does, that's my next word)

Well that just makes no sense.

Portuguese is all gay and all, but if the end of two words is written the same way, it's going to be pronounced the same way!

English is probably the most fucked up language out there.  There are words that are written exactly the same but are pronounced differently.  ex:  "Polish the Polish furniture!"  ("Pah-lish" and "Poe-lish")

This is not the time to discuss language easiness! Beside, I think French is harder to learn than English. I personally think English is an easy language to learn. Like, real easy. Hard to master, though... but that's with every language.

But anyway.
